Jeff Lofton / Blog

Family man

You can see Jeff and his daughter, Shana, on page 11 of the June issue of Parent: Wise magazine (http://www.parentwiseaustin.com) as models for a Father's Day story. (And that's his wife, Dean (http://www.deanlofton.com), in the photographer's ad at the bottom of the page.) The photos of Jeff, Shana and Dean, and most of the studio shots on this site, are done by New Orleans/Austin photographer Dwayne Hills (http://www.dhillsphotography.com).

Public radio

If you're headed to the Texas coast you can hear the Jeff Lofton Quartet on KMBH (NPR 88FM) public radio in the Rio Grande Valley, who gave him an in-depth interview recently; or online you can hear him on SmoothAtlanta.com. Let your local public radio station know you'd like to hear the Jeff Lofton Quartet. In Austin you can e-mail kut@kut.org.

In the air

If you're flying on Cathay Pacific airline, based in Hong King, or on Air New Zealand, you may hear the Jeff Lofton Quartet. London Times jazz critic Alyn Shipton added Jazz Therapy (use the player to your left to download songs free!) to their playlists through his show Jazz Cafe. Cathay Pacific has 111 destinations worldwide, convenient connections to over 40 Asian cities and connections to over 20 destinations in China (through sister airline, DragonAir) and 150 countries.

The big screen

You'll see a bit of Jeff on the big screen soon as an extra in the film Two Bobs which shot in Austin in April. Described as a raunchy, low-budget comedy by the producers of Dazed and Confused, the film is about two Austin gamers who create the ultimate video game only to have it stolen by some e-spammers. Jeff plays a bad guy -- an e-spammer.

Featured in Video

While playing with his trio in McAllen, Jeff was featured in a McAllen Arts Council video. View video on his Web site at http://www.jefflofton.com/video.html.

Great Review in the Daily Texan

The Jeff Lofton Quintet's All Miles 1950s tribute show at the Elephant Room in April got a great review in the Daily Texan, the newspaper for America's largest student body at the University of Texas in Austin. Read the complete review on his Web site at http://www.jefflofton.com/press.html.
