*Happy Father's Day*
I don't have any deadbeat friends because a man that doesn't have his own child's back, will NEVER have my back in the end. So I don't rock with "those guys".
However...I am very blessed on this day because I've had the privilege of watching a lot of my homie's, friends and family become some pretty awesome & respectable fathers & family men!
Men that are willing to go to the end of the Earth & back TWICE for the sake of their children...Men that would rather work two & three jobs than to watch their children starve... I say I am honored knowing all of you!
See...even though I've had legal custody of one of my family members that I helped raise, I don't have any kids of my own. But if and when the day happens to come when I'm blessed with a child of my own, I am thankful that I'll be able to take the many stories & lessons learned and apply them to my own family when the times comes.
Too much negative energy and light gets portrayed on deadbeat dads, but the REAL HONORABLE men oftentimes don't get the credit they deserve.
To the men that personify and embody what a real man is supposed to act be and act like and be providers for their families and kids, I salute you guys!
To my OWN father....my dad...my "Pop"....I LOVE AND MISS the shyte outta you old man....Rest In Paradise "Bo"!
Make sure you REALLY take the time to thank the REAL MEN in your life that you know take on and accept the role of both being a loving father and a loving husband/boyfriend and family man albeit friends, coworkers and of course family.
Salute to the wonderful guys that are able to call themselves father & daddy and husband. Know that you're honored and appreciated not only on this day but in general.
I "see you" guys and I'm honored to know all of you! *Peace*
I have some very exciting news to share!
My spoken word movie, "The Call" has made it through to the "Consideration Phase" of the HBO Short Film Competition for the ABFF - American Black Film Festival! (held mid-June in Miami).
My IMDB profile and all that jazz is being worked on behind-the-scenes so I'll have an official IMDB.com (Internet Movie Database) Profile set up for "The Call" and all of my creative film-related works/credits going forward.
So that being said, I definitely wanted to give a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone for being early supports and followers of my creative works! I truly wouldn't be where I am today without you offering the kinds of encouragement and support I have received thus far.
Should you want to keep track of the event details, the hashtags are #ABFF2017 and #WeAreABFF.
Wish me luck! *Fingers-crossed*
Also, much continued success to you and your efforts as well! Let's continue to keep our passions in front of us, be dream chasers and hit our goals for 2017!
Have a safe and wonderful day!

Good morning all!
Here's my tribute piece that I did for 9/11.
We've all been there, right? Post-breakup....the stressing and sleepness nights....the depression and seeking reasoning why....the heartache, blame game and shame.....
When you've finally accepted it's over between you and your ex and it all comes spilling out next.....
Here's my story.

I wanted to share a very special spoken word piece that I wrote for Mother's Day with you! You can check it out here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_uYLrROGNsM
I also mentioned previously that I've recently uploaded a piece written for the single moms out there as well, which in case you missed it, can be found here: https://youtu.be/OszRrU5bFXs
Next month, I'll be releasing two pieces in similar fashion for the dads out there also! One for Father's Day and another called Single Dad Story.
Needless to say, I hope you continue to stay tuned in!
Enjoy the upcoming weekend and take care.
To commemorate the month of May being "for moms" and in addition to the Mother's Day piece I'll be releasing on Mother's Day, I've just uploaded a new video called "Single Mom Story". I'll be doing the same for the dads next month as well!
You can check out the new song on my profile page or copy/paste this link:
Also, over the weekend, I was contacted on Twitter by Bruce George who is the Co-Founder of HBO's series Def Poetry Jam with Russell Simmons. Bruce also started a website called "Genius Is Common" (hashtag #GeniusIsCommon) and respectively, I've been personally asked to join in & create a a spoken word piece for the movement as well!
I wouldn't be where I am today if it weren't for the support that you have shown and I truly, truly THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart for that unyielding endorsement with my spoken word efforts!
I hope you all had a good weekend, & I hope you enjoy the rest of your day!
Peace & blessings! -Lamont
