I've entitled my latest project "Chromatic" and the concept of this release is two-fold. December 12th to December 24th is the Twelve Days Of Christmas, and if you're familiar with reading music, there are 12 pitches on the musical Chromatic Scale.
So with 12 being the magic number, I released a new spoken word piece everyday during that time-frame!
Here's the playlist for your enjoyment!:

Mixtape # 1- I’ve been in conversations & personally contacted by celebrity DJ “B Easy the DJ” (from the #FlyAmerica rap duo consisting of Mark Battles and Derek Luh). He has teamed up with none other than Angela Yee, who hosts The Breakfast Club in NYC (Power 105.1 FM) with DJ Envy and Charlemagne Tha God to release his latest mixtape called Let’s Get It Volume 5. I’ve been asked to have my spoken word piece, "Bitterness" featured on the CD! It is the very first track on the CD as the intro!

Mixtape # 2 -
Lindsey Williams, who is the rep for ABC, Universal Music & Roc-Nation & PR Director for Swerrdmedia has reached out to me to use my spoken word piece “The Call” on their second mixtape entitled, “Rise Of An Empire Volume 2”, which is also available right now! (My track is #11). In case you missed it, they also used my piece “The Fear of Dying Alone" on their first mixtape for Volume 1. In addition, DT Lamont (FFF Productions), who is the same audio engineer responsible for the beat for my piece, "The Fear of Dying Alone", has also put his touch on the background music for "The Call" as well. This will be my second time working with both DT Lamont for audio as well as the 2nd appearance on a Swerrdmedia mixtape for my spoken word.

Take care and hope this finds everyone in good health and spirits as always. Much continued success of course & keep doing what you L-O-V-E!
First and foremost, I have to thank EVERYONE who has supported me thus far. Saying it's been a roller coaster ride over the past few months is an understatement. But I appreciate your continued support and definitely the PATIENCE you all have as I know I'm extremely backed up on my comments/messages and I sincerely apologize for not reaching back out in a more timely manner. However, I do plan on catching those up as much as possible very soon. Nevertheless, there's some news I want to share with you that I'm absolutely EXCITED about! My spoken word piece, "The Fear of Dying Alone" is now available for purchase/download/streaming at MAJOR online retailers! (see below). I upgraded my account recently and decided to give the Pro package a try as it allows promotion to 28 MAJOR online retailers, amongst some other goodies for the toolbox! It's all about progression, right? Right. You basically submit your "single" (which is what I did as a tester), or full album project to be approved along with cover art. If it gets accepted, you're on those sites, plain and simple. Unfortunately, the track only got accepted to 11 sites out of the 28 but hey, you have to start somewhere, right?! So, for your listening pleasure, here's a list of the approved sites. Thank you all again for the support, encouraging emails and motivational comments! So....how can I explain this...ok...so I post my latest video, The Fear of Dying Alone about a week ago. It takes off, getting over 22,000 views and a good number of comments, likes, etc. I go from not being on Youtube search for my keyword the first day or two, to being on page 37 on day 3 to being on page 3 from day 4 on...needless to say, I've been very busy with my promotion efforts. Wake up this morning...literally....my YT acct has been hacked, my video link was spammed, YT deleted the video and apparently reuploaded it to "protect" my acct...needless to say, I have to start ALL OVER AGAIN now. So, those that have received links from me, that old video link isn't going to work. My new video link is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YsnCM7zYDV0 I guess it could be worse as they say...sheesh...all that money spent on advertising and time spent sending messages and what not down the drain. Well, Happy Friday everyone!
Hey everyone! I have FINALLY finished this project of mine and can't wait to share this with everyone. The name of my NEW piece is called The Fear of Dying Alone. Feel free to share it, rate it and comment if you wish! Thanks for the continued support!
My journey has led me down a path of rebranding...it's all about progression and yep...it's officially under way! If any of you have ever gone through this transition, you are well aware how long and tedious this can be. As if keeping track of all these social media profiles isn't hard enough! So please everyone bear with me. I hope to have this done over the course of the next couple days.
As of right now, my profile here on Reverb, Twitter and Pinterest have been completed for the most part. Youtube is going to take a little while as I'm looking over the new site design and all that "wonderful madness". I still may do some minor tweaking here and there in general, but basically what you see now is pretty much the foundation going forward.
I've also added Instagram and will do Google+ as well at some point. How I'm going to keep track of all this is beyond me but hey, I appreciate the LOVE and SUPPORT and the PATIENCE everyone has shown me so far.
Thank you to everyone for supporting me and loving my work and promoting my work as well. Stay tuned for more "good stuff"! Cheers everyone!
In the end...it's all worth it...the time commitment, the slaving for long hours, the frustration! Do something you L-O-V-E and you'll never work a day in your life! If you get the chance, I hope you'll stop by to check out the fruits of my labor!
Dying Alone - This is easily one of my biggest fears as I hear it is with most people. I'm glad this piece is finally done though as it required going to a dark place mentally to finish. I'm meeting up with the fellas this weekend to go over video ideas and the like. One of my friends has already provided a nice piece of his own audio instrumental to set the tone but much still has to be done as far as picking a video location, sound effect/audio arrangement, etc. Quite the challenge to say the least, but definitely excited to be almost at the point of completion for this project! I hope you are as excited to hear it as I am to be performing it for you! More details to follow...stay tuned!
I was born in Baltimore, Maryland; however, I was raised in Alexandria, VA but grew up as a child without siblings to parents both descending from Spartanburg, SC. I like to say I have a rather “southern upbringing” if-you-will, definitely being raised on politeness and character. The rest of my schooling, teenage years and young adult life were spent in Woodbridge, VA, graduating from Gar-Field High School in 1995. I wasn’t actually writing much back then, if at all. As I grew older though, becoming more exposed to this thing called “L.I.F.E.”, I found the need to have some sort of creative outlet, but it was only for venting purposes and internal peace of mind back then.
I wasn’t always as focused and true to this art form though and can easily say I’d given up on writing a handful of times. It wasn’t until life’s hardships started to weigh on me that made me to pick up the pen again, namely the loss of my mom in 2003. Within the period of 2 to 3 years time after that, I had also lost an aunt, uncle, and grandmother (in that order) and then lost my dad in 2009.
So…you probably thought I was going to write about all my achievements, accolades and accomplishments instead of this personal recollection, huh? Truthfully, me being here right now, saying I overcame…saying I’m free of previous addictions, therapy sessions and “dark” thoughts IS an accomplishment and commendable milestone in my eyes because I could be “elsewhere” with a dark cloud still shadowing me.
Why am I telling you this? Because if you’re still reading this rather long bio, you deserve to know that I’m scared by the pain and losses that I carry with me every single day. Yet, I’m still motivated…and I can’t and won’t stop telling my story because there’s someone whose going through what I went through, if not more. Taalam Acey and Black Ice are two of my favorite poets that I would listen to quite often for poetic encouragement and quite simply, I want to do for someone else, what they unknowingly have done to and for me. If I can overcome all this and still be here, however scared, yet still somehow able to stand and tell my story, I can truly say you can overcome and achieve ANYTHING you set your mind to do. I leave you with this: “Everyone has talent…rare is the courage to follow that talent to the dark place it leads”. – Erica Jong As one of my favorite poets, Black Ice once said…” I challenge any of you to find something that you’re really willing to die for…and then LIVE FOR IT!” That being said, what motivates you?
