"Goodbye Yellow Brick Road": A Benefit for MusiCares Thurs, Dec 11, 2008 at 8:30pm at 12th and Porter, Nashville

A great lineup of musicians is donating time and talent to support the The MusiCares Foundation by performing Elton John's classic album "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" on Thursday December 11 at 12th and Porter, Nashville's premier showcase venue. The show will start at 8:30pm. Admission is $15. All proceeds will go to The MusiCares Foundation.

The evening will include performances by Edwin McCain, Don Henry, Jeff Black, Emerson Hart, Natalie Hemby, Rick Schell, Benton Blount, Pru Clearwater, Brad Cotter, Melissa Mathes, and Stowe Shockey. Backing this stellar lineup are Dave Harrison (drums), Robert Kearns (bass), Tony Obrohta (guitar), Michael Webb (piano) and special guests, including guitarist Reeves Gabrels.

The MusiCares Foundation was established by the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences as a place for musicians to turn in times of financial, personal, or medical crisis. Its primary purpose is to focus the resources and attention of the music industry on human service issues which directly impact the health and welfare of the music community. The foundation's programs include emergency financial assistance, addiction recovery, outreach and leadership activities, and senior housing.
