Usually I would say that I mostly listen to hard rock with grungy guitars and soaring lead riffs, but lately I've been listening to a genre I never gave much much thought: folk. Now there, are defiantly some weird and boring folk bands out there, and some are way too twangy/bluegrassy for me (although I'm a big country fan), but I have to say I'm starting to love some folk bands. Two in particular are Mumford & Sons and Of Monsters and Men. Both groups write extreamly catchy songs, and use alot of stringed instruments (I really want a banjo and a mandolin now). I'm probably going to incorporate some folk-style playing into new songs, and I have a 1930s tenor guitar (used in bluegrass and folk music) that intend to restore and hopefully use soon.
