William Stenner teams up with A&R Select

William Stenner teams with A&R Select, announces pre-release Los Angeles, CA – William Stenner’s latest announcement is an act of tantalization for fans. This rock songwriter is putting together a pre-release EP of tracks to tide his fans over while he continues work on his full-length album. The pre-release single is “We Are Incomplete” (also the name of the EP). In addition, Stenner has announced he is now working with A&R Select, Los Angeles’ premier A&R firm. “We Are Incomplete” showcases Stenner’s ability to mix the emotive, melodic heartfulness of pop with the electricity and energy of rock-on-roll. The song’s instrumental aspects and Stenner’s distinctive vocals reflect the best-of-both-worlds personality of the song. Instrumentally, the song’s pop rock punch is driven by bright, catchy guitar hooks, fluid and rhythmic grooves and colorful, vibrant songwriting that paints an audio picture of cheer and thoughtfulness without wallowing in smarmy triteness. Stenner’s voice mixes a dash of charming grit with warm melodiousness, enhancing the song’s sincerity and complementing the sparkle of the instrumental work. The lyrics flesh out the emotions projected by the music, delivering a message of steadfastness and optimism in the face of life’s day-to-day struggles, offering the idea that hope dwells in exactly the same place as our troubles. “I write music because it is therapeutic for me,” says Stenner, highlighting, perhaps, the reason why his music resonates with such don’t-give-up, light-at-the-end-of-the-tunnel feelings. Songwriting, right from the start, has been a natural outlet for Stenner. He elucidates: “Ever since I could remember, I was always fascinated with how music was made. I used to beat on pots and pans and, to my mother’s surprise, I was holding a beat!” Toward the end of the 1980s, when he was in his early teens, Stenner found himself spending time with a punk band called Side Effects. He and the band members cannibalized a skate board ramp – so Black Flag could have a stage on which to play for a backyard party! A few years later, Stenner joined Ritual, releasing a five-song demo and playing local shows. Roughly a decade later, he was the founding member of The World Black, which recorded a full length album on Psychoacoustix Records in 2005. Soon thereafter, however, the label’s founder – a friend of Stenner’s – died, and with him the label. The band dissolved, its album forever unreleased. A two-year stint as a radio DJ was followed by the next stage in Stenner’s musical life – he pursued a solo career. He wrote a song called “Your Eyes,” which was vastly different from his earlier songwriting. Stenner knew he was on to something and, further, he knew he needed to get it recorded. He then began a fruitful relationship with producer Marty Rifkin. Stenner also finally settled on a moniker for his solo project – his own name. In his various musical incarnations, Stenner has opened for Living Sacrifice, was on a venue with Martin Blascik, played a show with David Boda and appeared regularly at Java With Javelyn venues.
