Things happening...

We had a blast playing our first show of 2011 at Slim's last Friday. We'll be spending February getting tight with some more material with our newest member, and working on a couple new songs as well. And then we'll get right back into it March with our good friends Of Whiskey and Blood on the 10th at the Broad Street Cafe in Durham, and with the harmonizing wizards Delta Rae at the Cherry Bomb Grille on the 25th. In April we'll be back at our favorite local venue, The Cave in Chapel Hill with the amazing Arielle Bryant on the 6th. There are many more shows to come, and all the time in between we'll be working on polishing up our songs for the full album, whenever that decides to happen. We're very excited about the enthusiasm people have shown about Scarlet Virginia this year, and we hope to recruit many more listeners and show goers, so if you like our music PLEASE SHARE and DRAG YOUR FRIENDS TO SHOWS. And remember, the more copies of "By Lamplight" we sell (at shows and on iTunes) the sooner we can record a full album! So spread the word! We love you guys, and we'll see you soon! Lindsey

First shows of 2011...

2011 is getting off to a great start! We have three awesome shows coming up, the first of the year will be January 28th with Luz and our good friends Transistor Zen at Slim's Downtown in Raleigh. It will also be our first show with our new violinist Katharine Liang. On March 10th we'll be at the Broad Street Cafe in Durham with dear friends Of Whiskey and Blood, and on March 25th we'll be playing with Delta Rae at the Cherry Bomb Grill for the NC Local Music benefit for Interact. And many more will be coming! We'll keep you informed!

So 2011 begins...

We've spent the first week of 2011 getting back into gear with rehearsal tightening up some screws that may have loosened over the holidays. Santa brought Ben a 2010 4003 Rickenbacker bass for Xmas, and it sounds drool-worthy. He and Shelby looked so cute standing next to eachother with their Rickenbackers. And they sounded even better. Our newest member is starting to sound like she's been with us a lot longer than November, and I'm so excited for everyone to hear what she adds. And over the New Year Blair and his girlfriend Ashley got engaged! As for me, my new in-laws gave me a beautiful accordion for Xmas, and yes I plan on working her into Scarlet Virginia's set. I just have to get a little better at it first. I took it out at rehearsal on Tuesday to show everyone and we all passed it around. I think I ended up pulling a muscle. That thing is heavy. Gorgeous, but a lot of work. Speaking of work, I've been putting a lot of it into booking shows for the first quarter of the year. One is finally confirmed, and we'll be playing it with Delta Rae of Durham at Cherry Bomb in Raleigh on March 25th to benefit Interact of Wake County. So there is much to celebrate and look forward to this year. We're super excited and motivated for what is to come. I'll keep everyone informed of new shows booked. In the meantime, listen to "By Lamplight" or go and buy it if you have yet to do so!

Thursday at the Pour House!

This Thursday we'll play our last show of 2010 at the Pour House Music Hall in Raleigh with Kennebec and Stella Lively at 10pm sharp! Come to the show and buy the new EP "By Lamplight" for your friends for Christmas! It's only $5 and is the perfect gift that shows what great music taste you have! ;) See you Thursday!

We have a secret...

Something is brewing and we can't wait for everyone to hear... not long before we spill the beans! Be excited. In the meantime, you can give the gift of lovely music and present your loved ones with "By Lamplight" for the Holidays. Already have the EP? Write us and tell us what your favorite song is and why!

New EP By Lamplight

From late January to April Scarlet Virginia recorded and mastered our first official EP "By Lamplight". Its our "mini masterpiece" and we couldn't be more happy with it. We hope to get it into you hands and on your iPods by late July/early August. But for now you can hear two of the tracks here, "Fireflies" and "Nothing More".

We'll keep you updated on an actual release date soon and a peak at the artwork is also coming up!

We'll see you at The Cave in Chapel Hill on Thursday!
