I was playing some music at the Ligonier Country Market this past Saturday and decided to sing and old favorite, "Molly Malone". At the end of the song as you probably know, Molly catches a fever and dies. That verse is a bit sad so I usually warn my audience that it is coming. Well, when I finished the song I noticed a lady was crying. I said to her "Oh, I am so sorry that my song made you sad." She said, "Oh, no, do not apologize. I love that song but that last verse always makes me cry." I realized at that moment how some people REALLY DO listen to what you are singing. I also realized how special music is and how it can touch a heart in so many ways. Molly Malone is being thought of and cried over....till this very day by a very sweet and kind-hearted lady. I was so very touched by her.
