I'm sitting at my desk, looking out my window at the sun shining upon the changing leaves, lost in deep thoughts. Fall is one of my favorite times of year, not only because of the beauty of the outdoors, but also because it offers a time of reflection. Mama Lenny and the Remedy has gone through many changes over the past year, and I have never been more proud of this band than I am today. If you haven't seen us in a while, come and check us out. I think you'll be more than pleasantly surprised at our evolution. We'll be playing the evening of September 20th for the Blue Star Connection fundraiser at the Downtown Artery in Fort Collins. If you don't know much about the wonderful things that Blue Star does, please check them out here: http://bluestarconnection.org/
In October, we will be playing at the Embassy Suites in Loveland for the SAVA Soiree to raise money and awareness for the services that the Sexual Assault Victim Advocacy center provides our community. SAVA is an organization near and dear to many of our hearts, and we look forward to supporting such a valuable asset to our community. We'll also be playing the Turning Point Zombie Ball with our buddies, the Burroughs, from Greeley Colorado. They put on one heck of a show, and if you've never had the opportunity to check them out, please do. We'll be wearing our finest zombie attire for the party, and rumor has it there may be a super jam of sorts:) You can find details for this party here: http://oldtownzombie.com/
In November, we'll be spending another night with some great friends, Musketeer Gripweed in Denver at our favorite venue, Ophelia's Electric Soapbox. The venue is killer! It used to be an adult book store, and they've certainly played up that theme when decorating. In addition to the funky atmosphere, they have amazing drinks and food; so, in other words, don't miss this show! November also brings about something we have been looking forward to for some time: We start to record our next EP! We'll be working with Andrew Berlin from the Blasting Room, and we could not be more excited! It's so hard to describe what we sound like to folks who've never heard us using our old recordings because they just don't quite sound like us. We are really looking forward to finally capturing our sound and sharing it with the world around us. There's something incredibly wonderful about recording songs with people that you cherish and respect, and I personally can not wait to get started. Thanks for sharing in my ramblings on this beautiful fall day. I hope to see you around at one of our upcoming shows. Until then, please enjoy the sunshine. Kind Regards, Laniece
It's that time of year again. The heat of summer hits it's high, you seek shade more often than sunshine, and New West Fest takes place in the heart of downtown Fort Collins. This year, we are among 65 Colorado bands that will play this festival alongside several national headliners. This is our fourth year playing this festival, and it is one of our favorites. The entire community comes out to take part in this free event and there are lots of things to entertain both kids and adults (and childlike adults:). We hope to see you there, in the shade at the Library Park stage on Saturday August 15th at 5:45 PM.
It's FoCOMX time in Fort Collins! What's FoCOMX, you ask? Well, it's only the best grassroots music festival in Northern Colorado that features local bands from all over the state. For one weekend in April (April 24-25th, to be exact:)businesses throughout downtown Fort Collins open their doors to musicians to play their music for crowds of live music supporters. For the listening community, it's the best weekend to catch every band you love, and every band you've wanted to see over the course of one weekend. For the musicians, it's like prom, or a family reunion; it's the best time to catch up with each other, and hear what kind of projects are going on in the music community. The best way to catch the action is to volunteer for one 4 hour shift; You get admission to the festival for your time, and there's no better way to volunteer than in a venue where six of your favorite bands are playing. Trust me. You can find more information here: http://focomx.focoma.org/ We are playing on Friday Night, April 24th at 10 PM at the Aggie Theatre. We're sandwiched between Wasteland Hop and Trichome; and we could not be more excited! Now is the time to plan your schedule for the weekend, and to get ready for a weekend filled to the brim with live, local music. We sure hope to see you there!
It's hard to believe it's already February 2015! Time sure flies when you're making music with your friends. Speaking of making music with our friends; we have some very exciting shows coming up this month. On Friday, February 13th at Hodi's, we will finally "Marry" one of our favorite local bands, The Patti Fiasco!! We're dubbing the event #Lovefest because love will surely be in the air. Expect a photo booth, candy hearts, band collaborations, love songs, and ridiculous dance moves. Presale Tickets are selling for $8, $10 at the door; the night will be amazing. It will also be our first official show with our new drummer, Crip Erickson! The man is a monster, and we couldn't be more excited with the direction our band is headed. A few days later, on February 18th, we'll have the great pleasure of playing our first EVER Boulder show at the Fox Theatre! That is exciting enough, but to top it off, we'll be playing with TWO of our FAVORITE bands (and several of our favorite friends:); The Kris Lager Band and Dead Floyd!! We'll start the night off, followed by the KLB, then Dead Floyd will send us all into a happy trance to end the night. We've never played Boulder, so tell your friends; we'd love to play there more in the future. We're looking forward to creating more music for you to enjoy this year. We love what we do, and we are very fortunate for your support and encouragement. We hope we see you soon! Happy Snowy February Day!!!
Can you believe another year has flown by? Me neither. We've got quite a bit in store for 2015, and we're looking forward to spending another year with you. We've been in a transition faze for the last few months, and one more change is on the horizon. Our beloved Jeffrey Blayney is leaving us to pursue other passions, IE: Home Renovation:) We're going to miss him terribly, and, we're pretty darn excited to welcome our new drummer, Crip Erickson. At this point, Jeff will still be playing with us for our upcoming shows with Wasteland Hop on Friday January 23rd, and Patti Fiasco on Friday February 13th. Please come and wish him well! We've been working on new songs and cocooning together in order to continue to play music for you that we're proud of, and that comes from our hearts. So, Here's to 2015! May the year bring you many blessings, lessons, and future memories; and may some of those memories be made with us. Cheers, ML&Rx
Living in Fort Collins allows for many wonderful experiences: tubing down the Poudre on a hot day in the summer, boating at Horsetooth Reservoir, hiking and biking the hundreds of trails around Lory State Park and the Poudre Canyon, and drinking more microbrews than you can shake a stick at. Our favorite experience as members of the Fort Collins community is FOCOMX. The Fort Collins Music Experiment will be happening throughout Old Town Fort Collins April 25-26. There is nothing quite like seeing local music in this grand of a scale. There will be hundreds of bands from all over Colorado represented at the festival, and we are proud to be one of them. If you're not sure where to find information about the festival, check out the website www.focomx.org for answers to your questions. We hope to see you out and about this weekend. We play Saturday night at Hodi's within a lineup of bands that we are proud to call friends. Get your festival friends ready for a fantastic weekend of Live, Local, Colorado Grown Music!
Hey all! We're gearing up and excited to return back to Stout Studios for our second album. Details have yet to be revealed, but it's a sure thing that we're heading there in January and then again in March. We received so much love and so many positive vibes from the community on our last album release that we're more determined than ever to produce something better and brighter than any one of us has ever been a part of before. There are so many people and organizations to thank for their tremendous support of local music, and they are the reason we have come so far. To name a couple, there's KRFCfm.org and all of the wonderful people and volunteers that work there, the Fort Collins Musicians Association focoma.org, and anyone who has ever supported us by coming to a show, buying a t-shirt or even saying 'hi' or 'good show' after a performance. Anyway, look for news of our upcoming release, new gear and merch, and check out the brand new STOUT Studios website in the next few months for pictures of our 'in-house' production TheStoutStudio.com.
