Decibel Shower Online

Time for a quick shout-out to a truly gifted musician from New Orleans, a gentleman going by the name of Doug Di Chiara.

As a talented multi-instrumentalist Doug writes, records and performs everything himself. A true all-rounder. A Doug of all trades, if you will.

He's a guitarist, first and foremost, self taught during his teenage years after an accident which nearly blinded him. During recovery, with his eyes patched up and life blacked out, Doug picked up an old acoustic and started to feel his way around, working out songs from the radio and getting to grips with notes and structures.

These days he's more than a dab hand around the fretboard. The music he has under his belt (and up on his ReverbNation page) is a quality collection of some truly life affirming pieces.

The first obvious comparison would be to Joe Satriani, and that's not just because they have matching haircuts. Doug's notes really do float and glide with such a natural flow you'll be laid back and flying in a blue dream in next to no time.

'Sleepwalkin' is a great one for this, just a man and his guitar, joined as one, breathing in unity. Then there are times when Doug really let's rip, 'Surf's Up' being a golden example. If that doesn't get you wet then I don't know what will. 'The Passion Never Fades' with this guy and time and time again he really sets the frets alight with some amazing work.

We can have a gentle trip 'To The Penthouse' or a patriotic stomp with 'Rock For Our Troops', one sure to get you foot tapping and flag waving. There's no end to the 'Sweet Things' Doug has to offer, be it a 'Dance With The Gypsy' or a glorious 'Rock Symphony'.

Listening to these tunes is a great way to relax in the modern world. Not everything in life has to go at a million miles per hour and an hour spent kicking back to Doug's tracks with a beer in your hand would be an hour well spent indeed.
