Name change + reorientation

by Tarkus Attacks! on Friday, August 12, 2011 at 9:16am ·

To our Family and Friends, This spring we started working on a new record and at the same time, started talking about what future of Tarkus Attacks! might look like. After being together for a number of years now, we wondered if our name and stage presence really matched up with what we've been singing about ever since we started writing music together back in 2007. After careful prayer, discernment, and hot summer season, we're excited to tell you where we've landed. Moving forward, we want to put God at the forefront of who we are and what we do, and declare that Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior. We feel the best place to start reflecting this is in our name.

There is a lot to a name. From this day on, we are no longer Tarkus Attacks! We are Across the Earth. This new name is packed with meaning and imagery for us. It declares our mission to spread God's grace, love, wisdom and truth Across the Earth. On stage, we are playing Across the Earth amongst rugged mountains, with bursts of light shining through the darkness. We hope we have your support and understanding with this name change and reorientation. We want to be as upfront as possible with the correlation of our faith and our music. Not to worry, this will not have a negative effect on our sound and creativity as a band. On the contrary, we're feeling more inspired and creative than ever! Looking forward to seeing you next time as Across the Earth! Nate & Chris P.S. You can find our new Facebook Page here.
