We got back to our rehearsal facility in Cincinnati after our dates in Detroit, Philly and DC this past week with our brand new line up and our Production manager who was unable to make the shows asked how they went... Now we were at Skyline and this was before we looked at the menu so you know it was a pretty important question. I answered like this. "When we started playing O'Shaugnessy's, a place we have played many times, the Staff working got our their cameras and started video taping." So needless to say we are very excited to get back at it and add some more dates...Thanks to everyone who came out and to all our new friends, we will see you again very soon.
So we have added a few new songs, thawed out the guitars and we are ready to hit the road.
I am so happy to announce we will be back in my adopted home town of Detroit and what has become our second home at Shaugnessy's in the nation's capital. For those of you in Philly that have been asking, yes, we are on our way - once we ran the museum steps, you knew we would be back. And finally...back to the sunshine of Tampa and the craziness that is Ybor!
Should be a great 2014 and we can't wait to get it started...See you all very soon.
The best thing about playing cities for the first time is making new friends and we have been very blessed to make some great friends this time out. Every venue wants us back asap so we are happy to return. So as we have our people work on the routing, stay tuned for some inside stories from the guys from the road the last couple of weeks and insights on what we are working on in the downtime…
So although we just got home a little over a week ago, we have already been working on the next round of dates. Look for new dates coming soon in VA, CT, NJ and yes…FL!
Lorenzo will be heading out on the road in May in support of their latest album, Ignition.
The tour, which hits the Midwest and East Coast in May and June, brings the band back to the more conventional style of touring, rather than playing spots dates like they did last year with Fuel. Marko, lead singer and guitarist of Lorenzo, is undoubtedly happy going out on tour for an extended period of time.
"It's been too long since we've been out for a string of dates," says Marko. "What's exciting is that we're going to a bunch of places that we have never played. This will be the first time in the Northeast for us and that is exciting because we can finally go see the fans that have been asking us to make it out there."
Apparently, fans have been vocal about the group's impending stops, which include Newport, KY, where the tour kicks off, May 24. Some fans, however, feel a bit slighted, as the guys aren't scheduled to hit certain spots yet, but Marko is optimistic.
"The fans from the cities we are not playing all ask, 'Why aren't you coming here?' Well, there will be more dates announced, so I'm hopeful that we'll get out to Denver, Minnesota and Iowa, for example," adding that, "It's nice to see everyone so involved and actually working hard to get us out (on the road)."
Lorenzo has a history playing the Midwest and parts of the South, especially Cincinnati and northern Kentucky, but the East Coast is a big question mark. Still, Marko reports that the welcome, so far, is warm.
"We've been pleasantly surprised that in a world of fewer places to play that we are able to get to the places we have never been. There are actually clubs that are excited to have us - that really gives us the energy to do a long list of dates. We can't wait to get there!"
And the line-up for the upcoming tour is a bit different. "One of the things I am really excited about," quips Marko, "is having a slightly different line up this tour. Aaron (Farrier) on drums and Stu (Stuart McConnell) playing guitar is the same, but we're adding a new bass player, Julian Simonelli." Marko goes on to say that, "Julian and I have been friends for a while and he is the 'go-to' bass player in Tampa. He has played with everyone and is a true professional. He's originally from New York and has played with guys from Black Sabbath, Blue Oyster Cult, Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow, Miranda Lambert's band and Nine Days."
So what are the shows going to look like?
"Our shows in the past have all been very scripted and stiff," Mark states. "Some of that is required when we're opening on a national (tour). These clubs (referring to the upcoming shows) are a little smaller so we are really hoping to do whatever we feel like. Hopefully, every show will be a little different and entertaining to our fans - and the friends they bring."

Special thanks to everyone who made the first Bike Nite of the year at the Twisted Spoke in Pendleton, SC (Clemson) so fun! Thanks to Tony for having us and Gary for making us sound so good. Also a special shout out to Chris Worly from Jackyl for coming out and Jeremy Scruggs and Kraig Hayhurst from 440 for sittin' in. We shall see you all again real soon!
Thanks to everyone who braved the cold to see Lorenzo in St. Pete at The Rock 'n' Roll Marathon. Over 13,000 people braved the temps that started at 34 degrees but warmed up to near 55 by the time the show and race were over. There was actually a funny story about us and our "Frozen" comment in the TBT (Tampa Bay Times).
After the show, Flo-Rida flew to Los Angeles for the Grammys, JJ, Stuart, and Rob went back to South Carolina and Aaron flew home with the OSU Woman's Softball team – He would like to pass along a big thanks to SOUTHWEST AIRLINES for that.
Plenty of people came up to us after the show to say "hi" ask a few questions. So, here is a summary for those who had questions but were too afraid to ask...
1) Yes, they were all original songs except one 2) The song is called "Shake Your KITTY" 3) "The Truth", "Not Ready To Say I'm Sorry Yet" and "Nothin Left To Talk About" will be on the new CD to be released in May 4) Yes – we all live in different states
Stay warm everyone!

Lorenzo is finally following up their last release, Love Shape Bruise, produced by Grammy-Nominee and Juno-winner, Kevin Churko (Ozzy, Hinder, 5-Finger Death Punch) with a new bunch of songs to be released this spring. Between shows, the guys have been incredibly busy recording new tracks for their release. They have worked with 3 great studios and engineers to get the songs done – Chris “Cookie” Suttle at In The Red Recording Studio in Dayton, OH, Lucky Powell at Millhill Productions in Piedmont, SC and Rob Nadler at OLS Productions in Cincinnati, OH. The songs will be mixed by Kane Churko at The Hideout Studio in Las Vegas, NV.
The new songs will feature more of the same – great rock songs that you can’t help but sing along with. Stay tuned for the release date and tour dates.
