Canada’s King Ujah to Bless Reggae Sumfest, Jamaica 2010!

Canada’s King Ujah to Bless Reggae Sumfest, Jamaica 2010! From humble beginnings as an entertainer in Jamaica, to great accomplishments in Canada and the United States, King Ujah comes full circle to bless the Reggae Sumfest stage in Montego Bay! Canada’s most awarded Dancehall and Reggae singjay, King Ujah, has just released his hit singles & music videos “Universal Love” and “Granny Got It,” which are receiving airplay on Irie FM, Mello FM, Power 106 FM, Radio Jamaica, also CVM, and Klick TV. He will take the Reggae Sumfest stage, which is one of the most prestigious festivals in Reggae and Dancehall entertainment. “Universal Love” encourages people to show love to everyone regardless of race or social demographics. “Granny Got It” portrays a more ‘playful’ side of King Ujah who said “the single was done to show off the fact that Grannies from the Caribbean might be 60 in age, move like they’re 40. The video for “Granny” was shot entirely on location in Jamaica. King Ujah has 2 albums, “Beauty for Ashes”, and “Glorify the King” in stores, and is currently working on his third album. In 2009 King Ujah released a single titled “Change”. It celebrated a change the world was about to experience with the election of the first African American President, Barack Obama. Also, in 2009 King Ujah’s hit song “Crazy” was featured in the TV series “The Best Years”. King Ujah’s music is often featured in Canada’s national Reggae magazine, Reggae Xclusive. On Thursday July 22nd, 2010, King Ujah will share the stage with prestigious artists Vybz Kartel, Mavado, Elephant Man, Spice, I-Octane, Demarco, Kiprich, D'Angel, Assassin, Ce'Cile, Voicemail, Chino. Additional artists to perform over the Sumfest week include Chris Brown, Usher, Etana, Queen Ifrica, Jah cure, Gyptian, Tony Rebel, Shaggy, Beenie Man, Tarrus Riley, Gramps Morgan and more, “Sharing the stage with artists such as these is indeed an honour,” said King Ujah, from the recording studio in Toronto. “This is the kind of stage artists dream of being on. I’m going to give the people a show they’ll never forget!” Reggae Sumfest is the most celebrated and supported Reggae Festival in Jamaica, and attracts the world’s leading musicians and performers. In its near 20 year history, the show has boasted a superb entertainment package, loaded with the best performances, food, music, and culture. This year’s Festival runs from July 17-24 at Catherine Hall, St James. Sponsors for this year include: Red Stripe, Ibero Star, Digicel, Wysinco, and the Jamaica Tourist Board.
