Godly verses Worldly lyrics

Daily Dilemma: Can both 'Godly' and 'Worldly' lyrics exist in your music simultaneously if you are a Christian or is it a double standard?

Will Believers be turned off by both views? Will non-Believers be confused by both views? Should writers be able to express themselves on both sides of the coin without suffering judgement? They say you can't serve two masters and I have been sitting on a fence between them for a long time. I realize many of my song lyrics are questionable and being a Christian myself I have honestly been struggling with this dilemma more and more. I like to write whatever pops into my mind but at the same time I don't want to send the wrong message of who I truly am, who I love and where my trust lies. I believe in God and I despise Satan! It seems the closer you walk with God the harder Satan works to veer you away. Perhaps the balance of both views may be tied into how they are presented? Maybe I need to label my songs 'wrong' and 'right', ha! What do you think? Come on, don't be shy...let it all hang out! Have any of you ever felt like this? (-;

'Subliminal'

These lyrics came to me out of the blue after watching YouTube videos about the Illuminati (Free Masons), *Satan within the music Industry ' and' songs others have reversed that seem to reveal satanic messages. It's very scary stuff, not to be taken lightly!

*Here are some video links to check out:

*NOTE: It is up to you, the viewer to draw your own conclusions after watching these Videos. They are merely documented sources based on others opinions.

Before going any further I want to make it perfectly clear that I believe in God! I take everything else, such as numerology, etc with a grain of salt! I believe in discerning over judging for judging is Gods job, not mine. When taking on a project such as this one you automatically run the risk of being misunderstood, misinterpreted and/or judged. But, as with anything pertaining to life in general, we all must face the good, bad, ugly and indifferent on some level every single day. *My prayer is that God will use me for His Glory, not mine! **I DO KNOW THIS…if my God given talents ever bring me into the limelight it will be by Gods choice and 'NOT' because I sold my soul to get there! May God Bless you all!

I had been invited to offer ideas for a Kompoz project but declined because of other projects I have been trying to get caught up on for some time now. But, it's very hard to get caught up when new ideas/lyrics keep coming, lol! There is never enough time in a day, right? Anyway…needless to say, I was going to create some music for these lyrics I wrote this week , then the music project I had been invited to 'We Ridin' popped into my mind. So, I thought I'd see if the lyrics would fit, which surprisingly they did. I submitted a quick idea track to the project but don't think it will be used.

*The word Subliminal (reversed) says 'I'm in Memphis'. This wasn't intentional but after I finished the song I decided to listen to it in reverse out of curiosity and that is exactly what it sounds like to me. So, I decided to google 'Memphis' and found out that Memphis is a town in Egypt where the most famous Pyramids and Sphinx are. I reworked the song, adding in some of my lyrics reversed. The line, 'Never, never be immortal' reversed sounds like ' Why don't we eat Mervin, Mervin'. I Google searched Mervin and found it has many meanings I wasn't aware of. Some seemed to fit right in with the lyric meaning too, ha! The words 'Stop, rewind, reverse' say: 'Serve you, Now we're Hot' backwards which shocked me because that was the underlying message in a few of the Satan in the music industry videos I viewed. *(People selling their souls to the devil to become famous major Artists!)

*SEE Blog 'Subliminal2' for wrap up!

Just a note to let you know that any funds received from song sales for the Half the Sky Movement charity that were written and performed for Kompoz projects, etc will go to the owner of that song project! Thank You for your support! Olivia/TR

Acedia (Be Aware)

Struggling with a 'bad thought' VIRTUAL REALITY April 06, 2010|By Kathleen Norris, Special to CNN

Author Kathleen Norris says the best way to battle acedia is to "recognize it and resist it when it strikes."

On a recent trip across America, what surprised me most was the number of people -- over 200 in one city, 80 to 150 elsewhere -- who wanted to discuss this odd word, "acedia."

It's an ancient term signifying profound indifference and inability to care about things that matter, even to the extent that you no longer care that you can't care.

I liken it to spiritual morphine: You know the pain is there but can't rouse yourself to give a damn.

The concept of acedia was developed by Christians in the fourth century who had fled to the deserts of the Middle East, opting for a simple life in rebellion against a newly legal, wealthy and politically powerful church. Today, we would say that they went off the grid.

These men and women quickly discovered that although they had left material possessions behind, they hadn't shed their inner demons. They developed a sophisticated psychology of the "eight bad thoughts" that commonly troubled them, the most spiritually devastating of which were acedia, anger and pride.

Several centuries later, as the church developed its doctrine of the "seven deadly sins," acedia was tucked into the sin of sloth, and the word disappeared from the common vocabulary. Unless you were a student of monastic history or medieval literature, chances are, you would never encounter it.

I wrote my book because I suspected that although the word "acedia" is unfamiliar to most of us, its effects are widely known. When I compared the classic descriptions of acedia with the plagues of contemporary society -- a toxic, nearly unbearable mix of boredom and restlessness, frantic escapism (including that of workaholism), commitment-phobia and enervating despair -- I found the ancient demon of acedia in modern dress.

Acedia can manifest as either extreme lethargy or hyperactivity, but it is not merely an individual spiritual problem. It affects communities as well. And it was this aspect of acedia that my audiences wanted to discuss.

They raised questions about addictions to the Internet and "virtual reality," about fractured families who are so hyper-scheduled that they no longer spend much time together, about the dissonance of living in a society that is the wealthiest in history but whose citizens remain dissatisfied, gobbling up drugs for anxiety, depression and sleep disorders at an alarming rate.
