Ozzy 101 - Reality TV

Do you guys remember when MTV played music videos on it? Yeah, not so much anymore huh. Well, not only did Ozzy succeed in the music video era by making numerous videos for his hits, he also successfully capitalized in the reality tv era as well. From March of 2001 to March of 2005 Ozzy and some of his family members were filmed by MTV for 52 episodes in there not-so-natural habitat. The show was a hit, in fact it is STILL the highest rated show ever to be aired on MTV and even won a primetime Emmy award for Most Outstanding Reality Program. Take that snookie! haha The series was shown not only in the U.S. but also in Canada, U.K., Ireland, India, Australia, Finland, Latin America, Portugal, New Zealand, Germany, Ukraine, Brazil and the Netherlands. Most of those countries played the uncensored versions of the show which Ozzy used tons of profanity, however Ozzy stated that he liked the U.S. censored version best since the bleeps let the viewer know when he was actually cursing. hehe

Ozzy 101 - Ozzfest

The nationally acclaimed hard rock festival Ozzfest was created by Ozzy and wife/manager Sharon after the organizers of the musical festival Lollapalooza refused to let Ozzy Osbourne join the tour in 1996. Ozzfest has since went on to become one of the more successul music festivals in U.S. history and has even taken the show over seas to Europe in 1998, 2001 & 2002. Some of the bands that have played the Ozzfest include: Marilyn Manson, Slipknot, Pantera, Mudvayne, Rob Zombie, Incubus, Linkin Park, System of a Down, Chevelle, Disturbed, Iron Maiden, Drowning Pool, Sevendust, Shadows Fall, Black Label Society, Slayer, Motley Crue, Metallica, Ozzy and Black Sabbath. Ozzfest has endured several protests, fueds (with Iron Maiden) and accidental concert goer deaths over the years but continues to be a much anticipated event. The last Ozzfest show was in 2010 but their website indicates more festivals will follow in the future. Maybe after Ozzy finishes the much anticipated new Black Sabbath record? One can only hope ! ! !
