New Show May 11th!

New show just added! We have been invited by the band "No Room To Breathe" to perform a show on Friday night May 11th 2012 at Mad Bob's Saloon Lincoln Street Manchester New Hampshire. We are currently scheduled to go on first so be there early! The other band on the bill for the night "Creeping Death" a Metallica tribute band.

The band Rustaffect

Rustaffect was formed in February of 2011. With Sean Blaine on guitar and backing vocals, Pete Auditore on drums and Bob Bourque on Bass and lead vocals. Pete and Sean, both from Merrimack New Hampshire, had known each other through out high school but never really hooked up to create a band until a few years ago. During this time they searched for a bass player and singer with no real luck. Meanwhile, Bob from Manchester New Hampshire, was working with another band called Seven Seconds Deep, who rehearsed across the hallway from Pete and Sean's rehearsal space. They would frequently social with Bob and his former band. When Bob would walk by Sean and Pete's room while they were rehearsing and hear them play, he thought that maybe he should be working with Sean and Pete instead. They were more of his style of music. The three of them got together in early February of 2011 to see what they could do. They then talked about a possible band plan, hence the band "Rustaffect" was born. Rustaffect recently performed their first show on July 16th, 2011. Several people attended the show it was a success! See of our live videos of the show on YouTube, Myspace, Facebook and Reverbnation. The band now has strong plans to start recording their first CD as early as this fall 2011.

More about the band, Sean was inspired by Kurt Cobian of Nirvana and Dimebag Darrel of Pantera. He likes to play Dean guitars and Randall amps with Carvin cabinets. Pete was inspired by the band Six Feet Under, Vinnie Paul of Pantera and the earlier days of Metallica with Lars Ulrich. He likes to play his DDrum set with zildjian cymbals. Bob was inspired by Peter Steele of Type-O-Negative, Geezer Butler of Black Sabbath, Nikki Sixx of Motley Crue and the earlier days of Metallica with Cliff Burton. He likes to play Warwick and Ibenez bass guitars through Ampeg amps and Ampeg bass cabinets.

Now if you are wondering where the band name "Rustaffect" came from ... well one day when Sean was wipeing down his guitar strings on one of his older guitars, Pete had noticed that his guitar strings were rusty. He then said to him, "What is that on your strings, that looks like a rust affect". Bob then said, "Hey, that sounds like a band name". That name was then written down as a suggestion for a band name. After a few more months of trying to find a name for this band that would fit our music, they then looked back at their notes and finally decided to call the band "Rustaffect".
