No Celebration - The ultimate Paradise Lost book

Welcome to No Celebration - The ultimate Paradise Lost book

Paradise Lost are planning a deluxe, illustrated book to tell their tale. This stunning, highly collectable piece of memorabilia, No Celebration, will be the band’s own full and frank account of the Paradise Lost story - told for the first time. In addition to exclusive insights from Nick, Greg, Aaron and Steve themselves, the book will feature full-colour photography from throughout the band’s career, previously unseen images and artwork, rare memorabilia and a complete annotated discography of the Gothic metal pioneer’s music.

Bound in an antique style cover designed by the band themselves, and presented in it’s own slipcase, No Celebration will be a truly unique book. This special edition will have a limited print run and will not be available in bookshops, but exclusively to Paradise Lost fans online. It’s set to become a real piece of Paradise Lost history, but this exciting project will only happen if there’s enough support to make it viable. To show your support, please register your interest here. There’s no commitment to buy at this stage.

PARADISE LOST – premiers brand new song on MySpace!

British gothic metal pioneers PARADISE LOST will release their highly anticipated new album “Faith Divides Us – Death Unites Us” on Century Media Records on September 28, 2009 in Europe and October 6, 2009 in the US.

Promising to be an even darker and heavier album than its extremely successful predecessor “In Requiem” (2007), you can now get a first impression of the new opus at the band’s official MySpace page. Just head over to http://www.myspace.com/paradiselostuk and enjoy the album’s stunning opening track “As Horizons End”.

Nick Holmes (vocals) comments: “This song is about someone who's on a downward spiral. Working too hard and trying to claw back some positive spirit by participating in all the so called joyous occasions in life, socialising and networking but to no avail, the long days have crushed the soul till only disappointment and cynicism remains. This song was inspired by the thousands of dishevelled looking middle aged businessmen I see in airports each year. This track has had a dozen face lifts since its inception and in true fashion, it was never intended to be the first track. Once it was mixed though it was hard to imagine any other song opening the album.”

Greg Mackintosh (guitars) adds: “The whole point to this song was to capture a feeling of foreboding. Like when a thunderstorm is approaching. All the chord progressions are supposed to give an ominous sense of dread. The mid section lulls you into thinking that you’re safe only to discover there is much bigger storm on the horizon.”

PARADISE LOST live: 18. July 2009 - Unirock Festival, Istanbul (TR) 24. July 2009 - Benatska Noc Festival, Mala Skala (CZ) 28. July 2009 - Teepee Rock Club, Limassol (CY) 07. August 2009 - Alternavigo Festival, Vigo (ES)

PARADISE LOST – reveal title of upcoming new album!

British gothic metal pioneers PARADISE LOST have named their upcoming new album “Faith Divides Us Death Unites Us”. Vocalist Nick Holmes comments:

"The thoughts behind the title “Faith Divides Us Death Unites Us” are very much self explanatory, there is so much division in the world caused by obstructing religious belief. We are all made of the same flesh and bone, what makes one religions better than the other, and would any true god allow his creation to destroy itself? The vast number of different so called faiths around the globe, just helps to strengthen my complete denial of any god, and force the belief that religion is nothing more than a man made cash induced fabrication to exploit a human beings natural fear of death."

“Faith Divides Us Death Unites Us”, the highly anticipated follow-up to 2007’s “In Requiem” will be released on Century Media Records in September 2009! Expect the band’s darkest and heaviest effort to date!

In May 2009, PARADISE LOST also released their demos “Paradise Lost” (1988) and “Frozen Illusion” (1989) accompanied by six live tracks from the “Plains Of Desolation“ bootleg officially on CD for the very first time. Featuring extensive liner notes by vocalist Nick Holmes and a stunning vinyl replica packaging, the strictly limited “Drown In Darkness – The Early Demos” is a must-have for every PARADISE LOST fan!

PARADISE LOST - to release "Drown In Darkness - The Early Demos" in May 2009!

For the first time, British gothic metal pioneers PARADISE LOST will be releasing their demos “Paradise Lost” (1988) and “Frozen Illusion” (1989) officially on CD! These raw recordings, which saw the band still firmly rooted in the field of doomy death metal, are being accompanied by six live tracks from the „Plains Of Desolation“ bootleg, which has never been officially released as well. All songs have been digitally remastered and the release is strictly limited!

Guitarist Greg Mackintosh states:

"Well what can I say about the re-release of our demos? This delves right down into our murky, sludgy beginnings. They may not be the best produced demos ever, but they really sum up the raw honesty of a very exciting time in the UK and European underground heavy music scene. We always preferred our demos to our first album as we felt that the demos more succinctly captured the “wallowing in a quagmire” sound. Hopefully these recordings will be taken for what they are ...the prime evil foundations of what was later to become Gothic Metal!"

Featuring extensive liner notes by vocalist Nick Holmes and a stunning vinyl replica packaging, “Drown In Darkness – The Early Demos” is a must-have for every PARADISE LOST fan and despite all its roughness, a sonic manifest of the early days of one of the most influential metal bands ever!

PARADISE LOST - welcome Adrian Erlandsson as new drummer

British gothic metal act PARADISE LOST have confirmed that Adrian Erlandsson (Cradle Of Filth, The Haunted, At The Gates) will be their new full-time drummer!

Guitarist Greg Mackintosh comments:

“Adrian has been a friend and acquaintance for some time. After calling me to see if the drumming position was still vacant, we quickly arranged for an audition right before entering the studio to record our new album. We knew immediately that he was the man for the job. Playing the songs with him felt very natural. He is the same age as us and from a similar musical background. Unfortunately it was too short notice to play on the new album but everything we do from now on will have Adrian involved.

We look forward to rehearsing with him when we leave the studio and to doing our first show with him in Norway on April 10th (Inferno Festival).”

Adrian Erlandsson adds:

“PARADISE LOST has been one of my favourite bands since I first heard them in 1990. When my fellow Brujeria member Jeff Walker told me that PL were looking for a drummer I got in contact with Greg straight away. After a few chats and emails I was on my way to the audition. I had learnt 10 songs out of their last setlist, but after playing only 4 songs Nick said “The job is yours if you want it”. Great success!!

I look forward to growing even older with the lads and rocking hard with them live!!!!”

PARADISE LOST are currently recording the highly anticipated follow-up to 2007’s “In Requiem” in Örebro, Sweden with producer Jens Bogren (Katatonia, Amon Amarth).
