Four Temperaments at Tate Modern, 9th May 2008

At the end of a symposium The Art of Andrei Tarkovsky, Four Temperaments, current holders of a prestigious Leverhulme Chamber Music Fellowship at the Royal Academy of Music, will perform a concert of exciting baroque music.

PROGRAMME: Louis-Nicolas Clerambault (1676-1749) Cantata Leandre et Hero with guest soprano Nina Lejderman

G.Ph. Telemann (1681-1767) Paris Quartet in A minor TWV 43:a2

ABOUT THE EVENT: The event starts at 6 p.m. in East Room, Level 7, and at 6.30 p.m. the quartet and Nina Lejderman will perform a dramatic French Cantata composed in 1713, based on a Greek myth of Hero and Leander. During the interval complimentary drinks will be provided and there will be chance to talk to the artists and guests of the symposium. Shortly before 8 p.m. Four Temperaments will perfom one of the vibrant Paris Quartets by Georg Philipp Telemann, a collection of highly stylised dances from French baroque.
