First, I would like to wish everyone one of my Fans and Friends a Very Happy Valentines Day. Spend the day with a special someone and enjoy their company.
Musical Update: I have been taking some time off from performing as my wife and I have been dealing with some serious medical conditions. Not only due to my conditions but caring for my wife and taking her and myself to all of the doctors we have to see is taking up most of our time and we are drained. I am still practicing when I can and still self-teaching piano and drums. I am still planning, health willing, to be back to performing out in the Spring/Summer of 2016 and I am working on my own music at home. I might even make a video from home to share with all of you. Please keep us in your prayers and thoughts.
We set up a GoFundMe page as the bills have grown too quickly to keep up with and more will be on the way. If you are interested in helping us out, I the GoFundMe link where you can find the statement and you can donate through there. We thank you for any help you can give even if it is just sharing our GoFundMe page with your Friends, Fans and Family. There are rewards at the end of the statement if you donate at various levels. Thank You.
Sincerely Thanking You in Advance,
Gregory and Sherry Irish gofundme.com/6ajxvyks
Yesterday, I performed at th 2014 "Light Of Day" Open Mic Benefit to raise money to help find a cure for Parkinson's Disease. During my preparations for the event I got to thinking back about my dad who passed away from Parkinson's Disease on February 29, 1996. His memory would come and go. When I called him on the phone he would set the phone down forgetting who he was talking to or that he was talking on the phone at all. When I made it up to visit him, prior to his passing, he would get shaky and his memory of me would disappear while we were together eating a meal at a local restaurant. He was, and always will be in my memory, a great man. He was liked by everyone who knew him. He was in construction and he made and renovated many buildings in and around the Syracuse, NY area. He was a very kind and gently man. He never showed any anger that I ever saw even when I pushed him to his limits. I feel so bad that we drifted apart in the years before he passed away. I miss him so much. I wasted so much time that we could have spent together. I hope that he knows how sorry I am for not being closer when it was possible. I hope that the "Light Of Day" Foundation finds a cure so that others don't have to go through what I and our family went through. RIP - Edward W. Irish
Happy Valentines Day Everyone!
I have been uploading a few songs from my upcoming CD "Touched By Life" and today, on Valentines Day, I uploaded "A Gift To Someone Special", a song about LOVE. This song actually started as a poem and then I made it into a song. Share it with your special someone today and everyday.
Today I received the completed CD's "Touched By Life" and I am in the process of looking for venues to hold a couple of release parties. Let me know where you would like to see me perform and I will do my best to get there.
March 24th 7pm Espresso Joe's, Keyport, NJ Gregory Irish, Dale Lakata, Dan Hall, Danny Rongo April 17th 7 - 7:30pm Green Planet, Ocean, NJ I will be the Featured Performer at the Open Mic Night Show. Hope to see everyone there.
This Thanksgiving was quiet. Just my wife and I but it was nice. It gave me lots of time to reflect on my life on all of the wonderful things to be thankful for. I had time to record and upload some of my songs and I started a channel on Youtube for my music videos. Mainly I am thankful to be alive, to have a home and food on the table which unfortunately many people do not have these days. I am thankful to have music in my life as it is an outlet for my feelings and emotions. When I feel down I reach for my guitar and sing or write a new song. I am hoping that I will be recording my first CD soon. I am also blessed to have good friends now that I can share my music with. I hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving and remember to be thankful for the joys in your life.
I just thought I would enter a post on my RN blog about why I am taking some time off and how I am doing.
I am taking some time off because we were pushing ourselves to go out to more events than we are used to and we were going through a lot of stress at home with renovations and neighbor issues also. My blood pressure started raising and I have an Ascending Aortic Aneurysm that I have to watch carefully.
I am getting better but I still have some pains in my chest, neck and back that I have to get checked out. My blood pressure is still fluctuating up and down but most of the time it is down so that is good.
While resting, I am working on some new songs and practicing my other songs and anxiously awaiting my return to Espresso Joe's Open Mic (and other venues). I really miss performing on stage and I look forward to doing it again soon. It probably won't be until about the beginning of October (which also happens to be my Birthday - The 1st) but I will do my best to make it a memorable return. I will be accessable by facebook, reverbnation, email or phone and I will still make some posts along the way.
