Oct., Nov. and Dec.

Back from two tours throughout Ontario and Newfoundland and Labrador during October and November. Made some great new friends and said hello to many old ones. The True Loves are back in the studio this week finishing the mixing, swear to god, and are looking towards an album release early in the new year. Happy Thanksgiving to all our American buds.

Working week

We are having a busy week in the studio mixing and editing the opus. All in between HFX POP rehearsals with the Super Friendz and True Love Rules practices for the Music Nova Scotia New Music Fridays gig at the Casino Harbourfront Room this Friday night. Admission is FREE! Party with us.

The HUFF festival; Elliott Murphy, Willie Nile, Steve Poltzz

In the midst and mayhem of the 3rd annual Halifax Urban Folk Festival. Played a cool, fun show with ex-pat American rocker Elliott Murphy last night, including a noisy and elaborate version of Gloria, with Willie Nile, Steve Poltz and Mike Campbell all sending a shiver down Van Morrison's curious back. Tonight, it's a full show with Willie Nile and guests at the Seahorse ...the Nav Comm Tav. Oh yeah, and a Super Friendz rehearsal Sunday that could possibly spill downtown. Finally, the JPE takes a brief respite and will return to the Harvest Jazz and Blues Festival in Fredericton in like 2 weeks.

Home County Folk Festival.

It was hot. Like just about everywhere this summer, even back here down east. London,ON, for the umpteenth time, yet there we're many people that came up and said;' First time! You were great! ....The drummer's awesome! ". That sort of thing. But that's what free festivals do, bring out the uncommitted, the un-believers, the curious. And they become...new fans. Bravo London, my mum's home town, great food tents, thanks to Cuff the Duke and all the other performers. And thank you , Marika at the Budapest restaurant. 55 years in the biz and cabbage rolls to Zsa Zsa Gabor over.

Fort Mac and Freddy Beach

2 great shows and a hell of a lot of ground covered this weekend. Thanks to our new pals in Fort McMurray where the sun hardly sets, and a cool outdoor Canada Day in Fredericton. Old dogs and children and watermelon beer! Thanks also to Hey Rosetta, Westerberg Suicide and all the other cool bands that played with us.

Willie Nile and The Emergency

Tonight Willie Nile , 1st class NY rocker, plays the Carleton in Halifax and will be backed up, as always, by THE EMERGENCY, Chris Pennell , Dave Marsh. It's always a righteous nite of rock and roll, so make the scene if you're in town. Guests tonight include , young punks, Gloryhound, and local golden boy, Jack Plaskett. Rock on.

Live on 105

The Joel Plaskett Emergency performed at Live 105 in Halifax today. We rocked three new tunes from the piping hot Scrappy Happiness sessions; You're Mine, Old Friends, and Somewhere Else. A fun time was had by all.
