Hi friends, as you already know, the long-awaited new musical work by Nosotros is about to drop. We've decided that, in order to make something more recent, and affordable, available as soon as possible, we are presenting you with an EP now, rather than waiting to complete the recording of an entire LP. This new material, which we have called "Ver El Sol" (See The Sun), includes the following 4 brand new tunes on it:
- Víboras (Cumbia) - American Dream (Rock/Salsa Fusion) - Solo Un Día (Reggae/Cumbia) - Cautivado (Salsa/Latin/Dancehall)
In addition to these songs, Ver El Sol will also have 2 bonus tracks on it that feature the late Nosotros singer/instrumentalis/frontman, David "Dave" Diaz. . One of those tracks is a remixed version of "Mama Tierra" that was put together by our bass player, Gilbert Uribe, and includes an inedited saxophone solo by Dave. I really think you will like this cut. The other bonus track is a different version of the cumbia "Viboras," that features David Diaz, once again, on vocals. We like to think of these songs as a tribute to a person that has been, and will be, a very important part of Nosotros.
Altogether, the elaboration of this EP has been a great experience for Nosotros. Most of all, the process of writing new music is, and has always been, something that is very important to the band and really allows us to be as imaginative with our music as we can possibly be. Everybody in the group participated in the creation of these new songs, providing for a big mixture of musical influences, harmonic ideas, song theme, and lyrical content.
In addition to the writing/composition collaboration between the group, the other rewarding part of this project is that "Ver El Sol" is entirely self-produced. Dennis Jasso did an extraordinary job engineering the album and has gone far and beyond to make sure that everyone in the band has been happy with their participation in the recording. Self-production is something new for the band and I must say it's something we really enjoyed. It does take a lot of hard work and dedication, but that makes us so much more proud of this material.
We will be presenting VER EL SOL the week of July 4th, 2011 at the following events:
7/6 The Santa Fe Bandstand 2011 Santa Fe Plaza, NM 6PM,
7/7 Low Spirits Albuquerque, NM 8:30PM,
7/8 Rio Grande Theatre Las Cruces, NM 7:30PM, and
7/9 Dominic's Italian Restaurant El Paso, TX 9PM
We will have copies of the album for sale at all of these events for only $5 and it will soon be up on iTunes and other online music stores, as well as on our website. We really hope you enjoy what we have prepared with you, our friends, in mind. It's a mixture of rhythm and content that will definitely make you move.
Thank you for all your support!!!
Hey guys, we have been very busy these couple of months trying to keep the momentum going and doing as many shows as possible. Durango, CO was a blast a couple weeks ago and our fans there really enjoyed the show; so did we!!! It was very fun to see that there is a lot of support for local and regional acts.
We just did a new photo shoot that includes our new members, Carlos Fontana on lead vocals and Manuel Ramirez-Ruiz on saxophones and vocals also. Some of the new pictures will be available soon on our website and also on our myspace. The addresses for these sites are the following:
Please keep checking our sites for recent news and show updates. We look forward to continuing bringing new music this year and also to keep our fans interested. Thank you.
