Hi Family, Friends, and Fans,

It’s about time that I post a bit of an update for Don Schink with Clean Country.

My third CD has just became available, called, “Keeping It Clean In The Country,” a Christian country collection of my original songs. Along with this, I’ve just lined up a booking agent, Randall Wilds, “New City Talent, out of Alabama. This is the same company that duplicated my first and third CDs. I am in the process of raising funds to pay for their upfront fee, as well as needed travel money to launch my 2nd tour of the season. I need to raise about $1,200 rather quickly. Please consider what you can do to help. The link is: http://www.gofundme.com/2sfirg or you can snail mail me direct at the above address.

Some highlights of my first tour were: an appearance on the morning show at WSEI Freedom 92.9 with Mike Belcher where I performed live, as well as being interviewed; attending Nashville Songwriter’s Assoc. Int. Spring Training; recording the third CD at Gene Breeden’s studios in Nashville; spending time with my friend, David Dougherty, in TN; meeting with Rick and Jennifer Bounds of Dark Side Productions/Forbidden Tears designs, of Mississippi; and spending a day with my brother, Raymond, in Dallas, TX, on the way home. Due to my recording session with Gene and his crew, I decided to forego a couple of other performances. Both David Dougherty and Jennifer Anderson-bounds took excellent photo shoots for me, which I appreciate very much. David has a very serious injury that could paralyze him from the neck down and needs our prayer support. We’ve been friends for many years.

As per my upcoming schedule, I am performing at Barbie’s Old Tyme Shop and Ice Cream Parlor, Tijeras, NM, noontime on Thursdays and at Patricia’s Café, Albuquerque, NM, noontime Fridays. Other local performances include weekly performances with local fellow-artists where we do jams and song circles. I also will be scheduled shortly at the two Hardback Café’s in Albuquerque, as per invitation. Jo’s Café has recently opened, Tijeras, NM, where we will resume performances there, also. I as scheduled to hit the road for Nashville, TN, again, where I’m to perform on 3 of the 9 stages as part of the Nashville Songwriter’s Association’s Annual Festival on Music Row, May 31, June 1st and 2nd. I’m also scheduled to perform at Dave and Buster’s in Nashville, July 23rd at 7 PM. The next big event is August 1st, 2nd, and 3rd at the International Country Gospel Music Association’s Annual Convention; West Plains, Missouri, Civic Center (Watch my websites for upcoming details on this and other performances).

I have various scattered dates available and so please feel free to contact me to perform in your local area clubs, churches, or even living rooms for house concerts. Again, whatever that you can do to assist in the fund-raising will be sincerely appreciated: http://www.gofundme.com/2sfirg The CDs, “Clean Country,” “Connections,” (Tate Music Group} and “Keeping It Clean In The Country” are available and can be ordered as per information on my web site, http://donschink.com/music, as well as other avenues. Thanks to everyone for being so encouraging and supportive!

Thank you and God bless! - Don Schink with Clean Country

Don Schink’s Newsletter – August 2012

Hi Friends, Music Fans, and Other Interested Folks: 

It’s been awhile since I’ve written. Where 2011 was a banner year for launching new music and projects, I’ve had some health issues that slowed me down for a bit, starting with eye surgery for a detached retina in January and additional surgery related to this in May. Then I’ll be darned if I didn’t contract what has been an extremely painful batch of shingles. Thankfully, none of these are permanent and I’ll be back to a performance schedule in a few weeks. I’m anxious to get back on to various stages. One of the more fun performances of this summer has been on the outdoor barn stage at the Old Tyme Shop and Ice Cream Parlor here in New Mexico. On June 30th, Barbie hosted a car show there, which brought in a variety of people and was simply a fun day, in general. Whenever I’m not out on the road, I play at the Jo’s Chameleon Café on Friday nights and at the Old Tyme Shop and Ice Cream Parlor on Saturdays, both in the Manzano mountains of Tijeras, NM, along with other local artists. We have played at Jo’s for about 8 years.

I’ve had the privilege of writing several country, as well as Christian country songs over the past few months. I trust that you will enjoy hearing them in upcoming performances. My newest invitations to perform have been local, as well as Nashville, TN. I’ve also had scattered invitations on the east coast. I’m in the midst of some rather interesting changes that you’ll see over the next few months, Lord willing.

My newest CD project is still in the works, called “Reflections,” based on one of my songs on the album. Tate Music Group is doing a fine job in producing what I believe is going to be a super album. I chose songs that fans have repeatedly shown positive responses to in performances. I’m waiting for Tate Music Group to give me the release date and will let you know as soon as I know. Executive producer, Don Johnson, recently contacted me to assure me that he is personally taking on my project. My vocals are already recorded. The next step is for Tate to do the background vocals. Don tells me that there are several ahead of mine, so I need to be patient, which is fine. It is all in the Lord’s timing.

The kids start back to a new school year Monday, which I am looking forward to, as it will free up more time for me to work on my various projects. Being a “house dad” keeps me especially busy during the summer. I love kids, though, so it’s all good.

I am available to play both country, as well as Christian country/gospel music. The type of audience that I perform at determines the music set that I share. If your club, organization or church would like me to share my music with you, please contact me as soon as possible so that I can get you on my schedule. I’ll look forward to coming to your town!

My current CD, “Clean Country,” can be ordered on my web site, as well as through other sources. Thanks so much for your continued support and confidence in my music outreach. I sincerely appreciate it.

Thanks and God bless!
