Apologies for being so long between posts, but the band has been INSANELY busy! Wanted to take a few minutes to finally give everyone a few updates as to what we've been working on, finshing up and getting ready for.
So as many know, we had taken the first month of the year off to recharge and begin writing a bit more. Since coming back out, we've been able to start playing one of those finished tunes called, "Its So Overt, Its Covert". Have a lot of other great skeletons to work with and can't wait to start fleshing them out.
Speaking of playing out, we're going to be having a very busy spring! Currently have several shows on the books for April and May, including the Finger Lakes Metal Fest and a date with, The Empire Shall Fall! We're going to be breaking into some new areas, but rest assured, we'll also be coming back for some of the places that play on a semi-regular basis. Check our shows section for a complete list on our upcoming dates.
One of the big things we're very excited about is our upcoming music video. No, we don't mean our tomfoolery that we normally do, (although we'll still be bringing more of that!) but our first REAL music video. A few weeks back we headed down to PA to work with, Wade Spencer, and shoot a video for our song, "I Killed the Peeping Tom". Don't want to give away too much, but we may or may not actually kill a Peeping Tom :) Regardless, the trailer for the video is up now and we look to have the finished product up in a few weeks. Are very excited to see and unveil this thing.
All in all, 2012 is off to a great start. We've got lots more in store including getting back into the studio to start working on a full length release. Keep checking back to follow our progress. In the meantime, can't wait to see you out at the shows to hang out and jam out! Will see you then...
Its already been a chaotic yet awesome debut year for us... but its not quite over yet! Still have about a half dozen shows before we put 2011 to bed. Check our calendar for the complete list. We'd like to see you out to at least one or two more shows ;) Pertaining somewhat to that, we've FINALLY got our first batch of shirts coming in!! We hope to have them by Thanksgiving, but if not they will definitely be available for all of our December dates. We're going to be taking the majority of January/February off for the new year to focus our attention on writing/polishing some new songs. Love to be able to start pre-production on the full length record by spring. Speaking of recordings... we're already starting to see the end of our supply on the 3 song demo we released in August. We only did a limited pressing of the disc and once its gone, its GONE! We will not be repressing once we run out so if you want one, don't wait around! Still have them available at all our shows for the time being and on our Big Cartel site (which you can find the link to here on our profile). Only $3!!! Will have plenty more to update in a few weeks. In the meantime, we've got a shit ton of videos to look over on our youtube page so hit us up there as well. Again, hope to see you out at a live performance before then. See you in the pit!
Now that our 3 song demo is finally pressed and in hand (and onsale at our shows and at BigCartel), its time to get ready for a busy fall. We're taking a few weeks off to gather our wits a little after a hectic summer to refocus on writing and improving our live set. Haven't been able to do as much with new tunes while getting out and about on a regular basis, so a few weeks off from performing is just what the doctor ordered. That being said, once we return on September 16th, we'll be in it for the long haul :)
October is going to be jammed with 5 dates all over the state (and even out of the state). Got some real gems in the schedule including a date in PA with our friends from, Burden My Surrender, a double header the 2nd week with a Friday in the great northern party place Edwards and then Saturday in Auburn with old buds, Cry to the Blind. The 21st is our return to 'Cuse with a FREE show at the Fusion Room and then a Halloween show in Utica with Blaming Hollywood!
November is gonna be packed too as dates are starting to finalize. The highlight of the month will definitely be a Thanksgiving eve show with Rochester legends, HATE MACHINE! All in all, the fall looks to hold a lot of good music, great times and certainly a lot of miles on the road.
Keep checking in as our schedule continues to fill up with new dates and we'll always keep you up to date with the latest AwV news, videos and more! Looking forward to seeing you soon
So now that we have a few shows under our belt, our focus shifts to the release of our demo. Its taken a little longer than initially hoped, but we're pleased to say that we'll finally have the finished product by the weekend. Not gonna lie, we're pretty excited by how it all turned out :) Taking into consideration location and distances between shows, we know that not everyone will get the opportunity to pick up one in person in the near future. That being said, we're going to have the disc for sale online at Big Cartel within the next day or so. This way, for those who don't want to wait or can't make one of our shows, we'll send it right to ya. The disc itself will only have three songs, so it'll be priced accordingly. $3 will be the cost... if you buy it at one of our shows. Unfortunately, due to the shipping, you'll have to pay $5 if you order it. However, to compensate for the additional cost, we'll also include a free AwV sticker in the order. This way, you're still be getting the same value as you would if you showed up to get it in person. As a little bonus to this announcement, we've already posted the cover art for the disc (its in our photos section) and on Friday we'll be releasing another track right here for you to check out. We've already had a great response for, "I Killed the Peeping Tom", so we anticipate even more for, "We Used a Band-Aid". Can't wait for you all to hear it ;)
So we cheated a little bit... LOL. Our live "debut" is technically still this coming Friday night, but we actually got out on stage for the first time LAST night. We were invited by Doug's old CAUSTIC running mate, Brandon Wheeler, to come and jam at his birthday celebration show with HIS new band, BLAMING HOLLYWOOD. Couldn't really say no, so we decided to keep it under wraps and just come out and do it. Really glad we did... The show was an amazing success. Gave us a chance to get up in front of an audience again with little pressure and shake off the stage rust. Not only that, but it gave us a chance to try out our material in the live setting and know what to expect... not to mention that we've been busting ass so much on the writing and polishing of these songs, it was a really great morale boost to see that work pay off. Now that we have our dress rehearsal out of the way, we can't wait to get out and dominate our "debut"! Hope to see you there :)
