STIFF SPIRIT "JUST SAY YA HATE IT!" has been selected the #1 PACIFIC NORTHWEST ALBUM of 2014 in the Northwest Music Scene Readers' Poll! THANK YOU NORTHWEST MUSIC SCENE/THANK YOU READERS/THANKS YOU MUSICAL FRIENDS & SUPPORTERS! ~Also~ NORTHWEST MUSIC SCENE – STIFF SPIRIT "Ladies and gentlemen, welcome, welcome, to 75 Bands in 75 Days, where we’re showcasing some of the best talent that the Pacific Northwest has to offer, at least one band per day, leading up to December 31st, to ring in a new year. This list is in no particular order and it is not a chart or a countdown. It’s merely a list of bands or musicians that we feel are worthy of checking out. The band for day 73 is a Seattle band called Stiff Spirit. If you happened to have followed our 2014 Reader’s Poll then you’d know that this band came in First Place. They kicked ass on getting the word out there and the timing was perfect as they were riding the wave of the album release. If you are looking for larger than life over-produced “Arena Rock” or some other kind of fancy shit, this isn’t for you. But if you are looking for gritty, grimy & raw punk infused rock and roll you might have struck gold. Check them out when you get time." http://www.northwestmusicscene.com/2014/12/75-bands-75-days-day-73-stiff-spirit/ http://www.northwestmusicscene.com/2014/12/northwest-music-scene-readers-poll-top-10-pacific-northwest-albums-2014/
"...reminiscences that lead directly to Guns N'Roses of "Appetite for Destruction". http://www.cathouse.it/recensioni20121.htm Huge thanks to Mau for Stiff Spirit's first European review English translation: Line up: Stiff Spirit (Jason) - vocals, bass, guitars, drums, Mike Musburger - drums. Produced by Jack Endino. Tracklist: Just say ya hate it, Angel sings the blues, Seattle sex drug, Back & Forth & Round & Round, Little Pearls, let's get bent, Won't let me in, Runnin'hot, Pair of shoes, DESPERFUCKINATION, April's fool The internet is definitely a great way to discover and passionate artists who still play for passion and not for mere profit. And 'the case of my encounter with the "Stiff Spirit", excellent project set up by Jason and I found out through my Facebook page "Sex, drugs and Guns N' Roses." A disk of raw punk rock and decided that you do not let escape from the first listen and masterfully produced by the genius by the name of Jack Endino (I could cite thousands of jobs but will limit myself to remind you that the producer of the legendary and immortal Nirvana). Can 'be the music for a way to respond to the many trials that life puts you ahead? In the case of Jason, the answer is yes. Shocked by the terrible disease that led into his mother’s death, he gives to us an album without compromises. His voice reminds me very closely, the best of Warrior Soul, MC5 and Mudhoney, and he’s also the author of wonderful lyrics, all of which are small displays of what is seen and lived everyday in Seattle. "Seattle sex drug" is a prime example and tells the story of these vices that often carry forward the world, without moralizing and with a gait almost Rolling Stones at some points. Forget any kind of virtuosity and enjoy the wonderful distorted guitars in all the songs. Jack Endino helps to realize the visions of Stiff Spirit slowly getting meaningful results on ReverbNation. You can not remain indifferent to the determination of "Back & Forth & Round & Round". Jason's angry voice is really good for those who still believe in fucking rock n 'roll. Surely "Little pearls" is a very well done tribute to Iggy and The Stooges with reminiscences that lead directly to Guns N'Roses of "Appetite for Destruction". "Let 's get bent" starts with distorted sounds and tribal drums and then makes you keep the rhythm with your feet and involves you since the beginning. The simplicity and effectiveness of the arrangements of the songs, the choruses that you enter in the head on first listen, careful production of the wizard Jack Endino and the desire to shake for a bit of bad luck from all over the world are the winning ingredients of Stiff Spirit. Another bad-ass track is "DESPERFUCKINATION" which starts slowly and it seems, in the beginning, a sort of lullaby, but suddenly it becomes the most massive and most pissed of track of the whole work. I hope that, one day, this rocker can do a solo European tour, or as supporter, because he’s really a kick-ass rocker. Highly recommended. MauRnrPirate
"[A] monumental record that could shape the future in a new era of Seattle grunge." "A Band named Stiff Spirit has just recently burst onto the Seattle music scene with a killer new record “Just Say Ya Hate It” . They bring a brand of music that can best be described as dirty, raw rock and roll. Their sound is distinctively edgy and reminiscent of the once classic sound described only as Seattle grunge. The record has shades of Nirvana throughout with its dirty guitars and tight, gritty sound. Whether you want to call them emo, grunge, or punk; whatever you want to call them Stiff Spirits “Just Say Ya Hate It” is a monumental record that could shape the future in a new era of Seattle grunge. The first track and album title “Just Say Ya Hate It” delivers a pure grunge fed lead guitar and a vigorous chorus that literally sings the praises of Seattle’s most notable musicians of the 90′s. The record ebbs and flows keeping it interesting and intriguing as it hits full stride mid way though with a crazy, high tempo, high energy track…. “LITTLE PEARLS“ pushes the metaphorical envelope both in lyric and musical composition. Opening with a soaring scream and screeching guitar the 9th track on the 11 track record instantly grabs your attention…. “A PAIR OF SHOES” is a blistering track compete with screaming intro “Where you gonna go? What ya gonna do?” setting the stage for records final two songs. “DESPERFUCKINATION” starts off softly and slowly and then explodes into possibly the most powerful track on the record. With a lyric like “Rock, rock, rock myself to sleep” “DESPERFUCKINATION” takes you on quite the emotional ride through the minds of Stiff Spirit. This powerhouse track is perfectly placed on the record and followed by the album closer “APRIL’S FOOL” . “Aprils Fool”, the closing track, encapsulates all that the record is about. A ton of emotion was poured into the making of this record and into this track particularly. The album was influenced greatly by personal loss and the lyric of this last track is proof that music that is based on emotion is music with meaning. To punctuate the meaning behind the track itself and record in a whole, “Aprils Fool” ends with the repeating of “I’m gonna through a dead girl party for you” over and over putting a period on the story Stiff Spirit told throughout the last 11 tracks." ~~ Christian Hamilton

Will there be anything left after generation "ME"?
Think: Gary Winnick, Kenneth Lame, Bernie Madaoff, Jack Abromoff, Kozlowski, Alwaleed Bin Talal Al Saud, Bill Gates, Warren Buffett, Carlos Slim (the cocaine er I mean telephone king) all lobbyists and members of congress, and fill in the blank with any other person you know who is happy to take all they can and pass the debt down to their kids. C'mon, doesn't everyone need a $200mm ponzi house to park the money they stole from suckers, (i mean trusting investors.)
The fourteenth-century Persian poet and Sufi master Hafiz expresses this truth beautifully: “I am a hole in a flute that the Christ’s breath moves through. Listen to the music.”
"Let's say that you are a business person and after two years of intense stress and strain you finally manage to come out with a product or services that sells well and makes money. Success? In conventional terms, yes. In reality, you spent two years polluting your body as well as the earth with negative energy, made yourself and those around you miserable, and affected many others you never even met. The unconscious assumption behind all such action is that success is a future event, and that the end justifies the means. BUT THE END AND THE MEANS ARE ONE. AND IF THE MEANS DID NOT CONTRIBUTE TO HUMAN HAPPINESS, NEITHER WILL THE END. The outcome, which is inseparable from the actions that led to it, is already contaminated by those actions, and so will create further unhappiness. This is karmic action, which is the unconscious perpetuation of unhappiness." Eckhart Tolle "Awakening Your Life's Purpose."
Christmas came early. The one and only Jack Endino is mastering the "Just Say Ya Hate It" album. Super-excited to hear the end result!!!
