A Night Over South POSTPONED

Heartbreaking news, SMH! The venue is having regulatory issues with the city of Minneapolis and had to cancel all concerts on their calendar, A Night Over South being one of them.

This makes my last 2 dates being cancelled and the city and venue having to do something with it! I love Minneapolis, everybody knows that, but that makes ya boy lose faith in performing inside city limits.

In any case, my team and I are canvassing appropriate venues now and are postponing this concert; to lock in a new venue and date. We will be announcing it more sooner than later.

Stay tuned here, in the meantime we will continue to release new content in the coming weeks.

That being said follow @twainlo if you are not, like my new Facebook music page and subscribe to the ILL COUNTY YouTube page ASAP! Android users get my TWAIN mobile app, I don't want y'all to miss a thing.

I appreciate your support. I'm out. 100

Why I Stand With Black Lives Matter

When I announced my headlining concert and my intent to give portion of the proceeds, unofficially, to Black Lives Matter Minneapolis, I was given the opportunity to explain why. Here is that statement:

Over the course of the past few years, I have witnessed injustice against black men and women at the hands of law enforcement here in the United States. And in the past, I have directly experienced that very same injustice. Now, as a father of two black boys, I often worry about what life holds for them in the future and feel it necessary to contribute to the movement in a meaningful way. I realized the best way to give back was through my art. Knowing that I as an individual am only capable of so much and after witnessing the efforts of the Black Lives Matter movement, I decided to donate a portion of the proceeds from my A Night Over South concert to the organization’s local chapter here in Minneapolis.

I believe that black men and women deserve their chance to pursue life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, no matter what community they come from. Instead, we are finding a system that is becoming more oppositional to that growth. For those reasons (and many more) I believe that through partnering, albeit indirectly, with Black Lives Matter Minneapolis I can contribute and make an impact that changes the future landscape.

Rest In Peace to the following:

• Freddie Gray – Baltimore, MD • Eric Harris – Tulsa, OK • Walter Scott – North Charleston, SC • Eric Garner – Staten Island, NY • Michael Brown – Ferguson, MO • Jordan Davis – Jacksonville, FL • Tamir Rice – Cleveland, OH • Trayvon Martin – Sanford, FL • Oscar Grant – Oakland, CA • Christopher Dorner – Los Angeles, CA

Headlining my first concert with a live band on Saturday, June 6, 2015. Stoked! Why? Cause I get to bring that MTV Unplugged/VH1 Storytellers vibe to you the right way. I can guarantee a memorable performance. We wanted to give back twofold: $10 GA, $12 V.IP. Balcony tickets. V.I.P purchasers are entered in a $50 AMEX gift card drawing. Also, after all of the social events in the past year and the turmoil in our country, I been sitting back calmly watching and getting more and more upset. I have decided to donate a portion of all A Night Over South's proceeds to Black Lives Matter Minneapolis. I have researched their organization here in the city and they have 112% of my support in what they do and what they are trying to accomplish. Proud to stand with them. So come have a great time with us, enjoy what should be a classic musical experience on a summer evening, and help give back to charity. Everybody wins! Tickets are onsale now at http://nightoversouth.bpt.me See you there! TWAIN LO

Tonight's Show Cancelled

The Ready For The Industry Tour show tonight at the Fine Line Music Cafe has been cancelled. We were told it was by decision of the City of Minneapolis and the vunue. This was not the promoter's decision. Apologies, stay tuned here for future TWAIN live show dates.
