Bad news from the Acid front. Our bass player's house burned down last week. Luckily no one was hurt, but it was a total loss. Even worse, that was our practice space as well. The firefighters were able to stop the blaze before it took our gear, but the property is condemned and we have no place to play. Anyone who knows the band realizes we are all cheap bastards but it looks like we'll have to drop some money on a rehearsal studio, at least temporarily. We have some upcoming gigs that we'd hate to miss. We already cancelled one show because of the fire.
In other news, our guitarist Denis is no longer with us. Honestly, I don't know if he quit or we kicked him out. It doesn't matter, we've already got a couple of candidates lined up. We'll keep you posted on the new Acid ax-man.
Acid Uprising will be getting some airplay on a couple of killer metal radio shows. Be sure to tune in.

We get asked a lot about our name. More specifically; what exactly does Acid Uprising mean? I wish there was a really cool story behind it or that it had some deep meaning but the truth is, it's just a name. Like most new bands, we started with a big list of names and boiled it down to a few we didn't completely hate. We ended up with "Violent Uprising" and "Acid Blood". We weren't crazy about either, they were just the two least sucky ones we could come up with. They seemed kind of generic and it was hard to believe there weren't already a few bands using those names. Then, Denis (our guitarist) suggested we combine the two and we ended up with "Acid Uprising." It was pretty absurd, but then again so was our music so it felt like a good fit. Best of all; we couldn't find anyone with a name even close. So there you have it.
