2014 has been a good and productive year musically for me.
I started the year as I ended it, as the UK’s No.1 and London’s No.1 Spiritual artist at www.reverbnation.com/paulssongsofbelief (in August I would spend a brief spell as No.1 in the World), London’s No.1 Blues artist, No.4 in the UK at www.reverbnation.com/paulrobertthomas and also Israel’s No.1 and Local No.1 Blues artist at www.reverbnation.com/paullyricist.
For the first part of the year I continued my weekly residency as a panelist on Juke Box Jury on Liverpool’s Mersey Radio where many of our songs were played as they were on radio stations worldwide from the UK to Las Vegas and New York especially and frequently on Radio Milton Keynes, Venture Radio, Chelsea Radio and Museboat Radio.
In 2014 I decided to distance myself from the established U.S., German and UK record companies that I had released some previous albums with and I formed by own net label called ‘Swiss Cottage Recordz’ (www.reverbnation.com/label/swisscottagerecordz) to promote the high number of songs I was helping to create.
A lot of my time was employed working with the exceptionally talented Singer Songwriter, composer and actor, Paul Odiase (www.paullyrics.com/lyrics/p-o-p/artist-bio-paul-odiase) on songs in a collaboration we called ‘Les Paul’s’(The Paul’s) for which I established a couple of sites at www.facebook.com/PaulonPaul and at www.reverbnation.com/lespaulsthepauls where we currently stand at No.8 in London’s Alternative song charts.
Our ‘Les Paul’s’(The Paul’s) two debut albums were simultaneously released on 31/05/2014, ‘Holy Land Revisited’, that can be listened to at www.paullyrics.com/album/holy-land-revisited and ‘P.O.P.’ that can be heard at www.paullyrics.com/album/p-o-p-paul-on-paul.
I would co-release a total of five albums in 2014, the two ‘Les Paul’s'(The Paul’s) albums in May and three more albums in December, the first of these called ‘Going Down Fighting’ with the UK’s Paul Walker was released on 1st December that you can hear at www.paullyrics.com/album/going-fighting-2 and two more albums with ‘Les Paul’s’(The Paul’s) were simultaneously released on 15th December called ‘The House of ill Repute’ that can be heard at www.paullyrics.com/album/house-ill-repute-les-pauls-pauls and ‘My Liverpool Lad’ featuring and introducing RUTH (www.facebook.com/ruth.arbenz) that can be heard at www.paullyrics.com/album/liverpool-lad-les-pauls-pauls. ‘The House of ill Repute’ I consider being my finest co-work to date and is recommended listening!
All of my 2014 albums were released through Distrokid (www.distrokid.com) who will send as many of your songs or albums that you submit to them over the course of one calendar year for an annual low fixed price to the major download stores - iTunes, Spotify, Google Play, Amazon, Beats Music, Rdio, Deezer, and YouTube Music Key.
Christmas time heralded the free download we offered of Michigan’s renowned singer songwriter Angela Predhomme and my song ‘Christmas Time with You’ that saw it played 24/7 on a number of radio stations including New York’s Chelsea Radio.
I spent some time updating my music website at http://www.paullyrics.com that now includes more than 160 released & unreleased songs, song information and download links as well as over 50+ live concert and promo videos covering a wide range of music genres and the wide range of talented artists around the globe that I have been fortunate enough to have worked with.
