Jim Minor made a guest appearance on the Sat. night Grand Ole Opry show on Sept. 30th, 1961. He played both shows that night and then played on the Midnight Jamboree at the Ernest Tubb Record Shop. On the Grand Ole Opry show that night with Jim was The Wilburn Bros., The Cook Bros., Don Gibson, Norma Jean, Roger Miller, Johnny and Jack, Kitty Wells, Bill Monroe, Ferlin Husky, Ernest Tubb and Billy Grammer.
Jim Minor and Bob Cloud were owners of Colt "45" Records of Flint, Mi 1959. This was a country and western and rockabilly record label. On the label were artists: Connie Dycus, Donna Chrysler/Donah Hyland, Paul and Larry and Eddie and Don. Jim and Bob take Connie Dycus to Nashville to the old Rca Studio B and they record four songs. Two songs (Rock-a-bye-Baby Rock and Mind If I Cry) were released on Mercury records 1958 and the other two songs (Please Mister and I Know) were released on Colt "45" records in 1959. Since Jim and Bob used the Rca Studio B for 6 straight years, they always paid for the sessions. They always used: Chet Atkins, Floyd Cramer, Junior Huskey/Bob Moore, The Jordanaires, Hank Garland, Grady Martin and Buddy Harman.
