Bravewords Hardwares Review of 3D

DDrive - 3-D (Melodic Revolution Records) Reviewed by : Aaron Small Rating : 8.0

A+ for marketing efforts with this one! Packaged with a free pair of 3D glasses, the front and back covers, as well as double-sided, fold-out poster literally leaps out at you. 3D is the third album from DDrive, a highly underrated classic rock band from Rochester, NY featuring vocalists/guitarists Phil Naro (Talas, Peter Criss) and Don Mancuso (The Lou Gramm Band, Black Sheep). Furthermore, first single ‘Dig Down’ features a special guest appearance from Naro’s former Talas bandmate and bass god Billy Sheehan. Expect nothing less than air-tight grooves, super slick polish and enticing hooks as evidenced on ‘Next Train’ and ‘Chains On You’. The tempo slows with the ballad ‘Never Had A Chance’, but ‘Down Deep’ revs the musical engine again. Unfortunately ‘1 to 7 Rock-N-Roll Heaven’ takes a lyrical turn for the worse with its numerical counting and name dropping of deceased musicians including: Bonham, Mercury, Jimi Hendrix, Michael Jackson and Elvis. Rather ironic as it’s the continual repetitive play of artists such as Led Zeppelin and Queen on classic rock radio that keep deserving new material, namely the bulk of 3-D, from the FM airwaves.

D Drive Goes 3D in their latest CD release on Melodic Revolution Records.

A Review By Andrea R. Garrison – onlinewithandrea The D Drive band features Phil Naro, Don Mancuso, John TaylorJohn Taylor begin_of_the_skype_highlighting end_of_the_skype_highlighting, John Naro and Bobby Bond. D Drive doesn’t waste any time starting out the 3D CD with the opening tune Next Train which definitely starts you moving. D Drive gets right into rocking the house as they say. It is ironic that one tune is called Dig Down and another cut is called Down Deep because D Drive is taking it to another level with this Melodic Revolution Records release. They are taking it down deep while at the same time stepping it up to some high powered levels in terms of the sounds they are creating on this new CD. All I can say is if you are ready to rock then take the 3D ride with D Drive. To learn more about D Drive visit www.ddrive.com and melodicrevolution.com.
