Instant Karma and Waxy's!

First of all thanks to all of our friends old and new who have come out to support us on the patio at Waxy O'Connor's Foxboro over the past two weeks. We've had two beautiful summer Thursdays playing al fresco. Maria and I have been looking forward to playing there for a while and thanks to my good friend Wally Welch of the McMurphys and a quirk of fate (thanks Jay) it happened. As a result of your support we now have four additional dates JULY 14TH (Allons enfants de la Patrie, Le jour de gloire est arrivé ...), AUGUST 11TH, SEPTEMBER 1ST, and SEPTEMBER 15TH. A bientôt.

AcousticFire Night at The Laf

Our regular Friday nights at the Lafayette continue to be a blast with surprise twists and turns every time - this month featured a fine impromptu Beatles songbook singalong towards the end of the evening with with guest artist Dennis launching from one to the next with the lovely Maria. Stay tuned for February date - Maria's birthday is just around the corner.

Hot! Hot! Hot!

The Medfield MEMO concert this year was hot! In addition to 96 degrees in the shade we had some great tunes to play and a great band to play them with - Tom Yates and the Workingman's Band joined us the the festivities this year and, man, they rock. With Tom Yates and Maria trading classic rock songs, it was all I could do to keep up..... Stay tuned for the video of the event which will be online ASAP.

First Gig at Game 7

First gig at Game 7 was a big hit and lots of fun. Maria's son Mike won a talent contest in Norwood as an Elvis impersonator and Don Berry showed up out of the blue to join us on bass. Since Maria was attending the contest I practiced some solo tunes to warm up the audience for the Diva herself. Just got through "Here comes the sun" when she waltzed in, strapped on her guitar and we launched into our first set - what an entrance! Game 7 has amazing food for a bar and nice folks. Looking forward to more gigs there.

Pan City is now Game Seven!

Looking forward to playing our first gig at Game Seven in Plainville on Friday (Feb 1 - Rabbit, Rabbit, Rabbit). If you haven't been to Game Seven and you like to eat, you're missing something - the food is top-notch and reasonably priced. My favorite (and yours too once you try them) is the ribs appetizer. They are meatiest ribs anywhere and the sauce is spectacular. Try them and you'll be back!

Recording the New Demo

So, we really felt that we needed to update our ReverbNation site with some new music that reflected our recent songlist and sound. In stepped our friend Scot from Bat Studios in Quincy to the rescue - spent a great Sunday afternoon in his very awsome place laying down the three tunes, Small Town, Bobbie McGee and Runaway - Enjoy - Hope to see you all soon at a gig.

New Places, New Spaces

So, it seems like there is this evolution of places that we play... we'll play for 4-6 gigs in one place and then find someplace new. Except for a few like Lafayette where we have a solid following and play monthly, we open up new places pretty frequently... and then restaurants and bars also come and go... it's a tough business. Currently, Franklin is the hot spot.. we had soome great times at "3" restaurant this summer, met some great people and now have a bunch of gigs booked at The Alumni Restaurant - very cool and attrreactive family owned pub with good food, lots of draft beers and a family atmosphere. And along with that come some new tunes to the repertoire. and the promise of some originals from the deft Maria... stay tuned.

Lafayette Al Fresco

Every year i really look forward to playing on the beautiful patio at Lafayette House. On a nice evening it's amazing, covered by the huge oaks with little twinkle lights and glowing fire pits. With the dozen or so umbrella tables filled it's an intimate private party - there's lots of interaction and a feeling of intimacy. Unfortunately we had to play inside on Friday, but the place was mobbed including a lot of friends who came out to see us and a good time was had by all.. Well, maybe next time we'll be al fresco

3 Restaurant

Last weekend Maria and I started playing at the 3 Restaurant in Franklin MA, sister place to Sky in Norwood. Wow is all I can say - you have to experience this place (and you can since they just rebooked us for 6 more gigs!). The packed restaurant has a very cool decor, sophisticated, warm and friendly. Maria and I got there early because we had heard the food was good - and both of us being foodies, we couldn't resist spending our pay on something tasty. Maria had a beautifully constructed tuna tartar with avocado and all sorts of other goodies while I started with 4 delicious local oysters followed by a Greek salad. Oh yea, - and we played some music too.

First Night At Town Spa Pizza

Last Friday Maria and I performed for the first time at Town Spa Pizza in Stoughton MA. I'd heard a lot of stories about how everyone went there in their youth and that they had awsome pizza, but I certainly wasn't prepared for what a fun night we had. The owners could not have been more friendly and hospitable and the pizza was very fine indeed. They have built a new room in the basement and outfitted it like a corner pub. Awesome bar with tables around the outside and a nice stage area. They just christened this room a few weeks ago and we were honored to be among the first performers. We'll be back in May so keep your eyes on our schedule - hope you'll come down and support this very worthy establishment.
