House of Blues - Chicago

Tomorrow evening, July 23, The Banana Convention will be performing at the House of Blues in Chicago as a part of the Slurpee/7-11 Battle of the Bands. This is the first round of the Battle of the Bands, and we need your help to advance to round two. If you are unable to be in Chicago in person, you are able to catch a live feed of the show online at facebook.com/slurpee (click the SlurpeeBOTB tab on their page) starting at 6pm CST. Then, after the show is over, starting at midnight we need each and every one of you to go online to slurpeenation.com and VOTE for The Banana Convention! The voting is only open for the weekend and you can vote once a day for those three days. Please vote EVERY DAY. This is a huge deal and opportunity for us and we cannot make it to the next round without all of you helping us! Thanks so much, Fananas! I promise if you tune in tomorrow evening at facebook.com/slurpee for our set, we'll rock your faces off!!

Two Great Shows That Taste Great Together

This weekend, The BC has a pair of great shows, and you're gonna want to catch 'em both.

On Friday, we're back at BeMo's in Bay City where we'll be tearing it up wih the amazing Life Size Ghost. If you haven't caught LSG before, don't miss your chance to check them out on Friday. And to make it even better, the show is FREE. Yep, no cover charge at all! So get there before 10pm and be ready to rock, cuz you're gonna get yourself one heck of a show.

And speaking of one heck of a show, Saturday is the 4th Annual White's Bar Summer Music Fest-A-Go-Go! The Banana Convention has been a part of this event every year since the beginning, and it is ALWAYS a fantastic time. We're talking over 15 bands over the course of 12 hours - from 2pm to 2am - and it's only FIVE BUCKS!! Yeah, you read that right. 12 hours of music for only $5. On top of that, there's going to be live pro-wrestling happening in between bands as well. Now that's entertainment. Again, the entire event kicks off at 2pm with the big band sounds of The Baytones and continues from there with bands such as Cougar the Tiger, The Holy Gun, Doogie, Smiley Face, Buckra, and of course, The Banana Convention. We got the 6pm time slot, so make sure you're there in time for our set. You can get more info, including a list of all the bands and the entire schedule of events, at www.WhitesMusicFest.com.

That's a great weekend and a great pair of shows, if you ask me. We'll see you out there, Fananas!

Warped Tour 2010

Big News, Fananas. We have been selected to perform once again this year at the 2010 Van's Warped Tour! We will be rocking out on the Kevin Says Stage at Comerica Park in Detroit on Friday, July 30. This will be our third year appearing at the Warped Tour, and we get more and more excited every time. We're pumped up, and hopefully we'll see you all down there on July 30.

Looking to shows that are a little sooner, though, this week we hit the road for a fun little 4 day jaunt. This Thursday night, June 10, we will be back at Czar's 505 in St. Joseph. Always a blast in St. Joe and at the 505. On Friday, June 11, we continue down south when we hit up Stanley's Pub in Cincinnati, OH with our band crush, Buckra. Saturday night, June 12, we make our return to Chicago, IL at The Elbo Room. The Elbo Room is a great place, and we love our Chicago peeps, so we hope to have you all out in full force on Saturday night. And then we cap off this mini-tour on Sunday, June 13, at the 2010 PrideFest in Milwaukee, WI. This is the largest LGBT Festival in the country, and we're super excited to be a part of it. We'll be performing Sunday at Noon on the Miller Light Main Stage.

It's gonna be a great time on the road and fantastic string of shows. We hope to see you all out in full force so we can party, dance, and have some fun with y'all. See you on the road!

FREE PIZZA!!

What?! Yeah, we're not above bribing you with food-stuffs to get you out to our shows. So be sure you come out to White's Bar this Friday night, May 28, to catch us with our friends from Columbus The Andy Shaw Band, and not only will you get a great night of music but free pizza as well! That's only while supplies last, so make sure you get there early if you want a slice. But free pizza isn't the ONLY reason you should come out to this show. As mentioned, we'll be playing with The Andy Shaw Band, who is a tremendous Reggae/Rock band from Columbus, OH. You'll be dancing and grooving and working off that pizza you ate before you know it. Check 'em out at www.andyshawband.com to get a glimpse beforehand, and then come out to White's on Friday to see 'em in person. And, of course, WE'LL be there too! So I just can't see anything about this night that would stop you from being there. Free Pizza, The Andy Shaw Band, and The Banana Convention. All at White's Bar and all for only a paltry $2 cover charge. I mean, really?? C'mon! How can you possibly pass that up? Show starts at 10pm, but again, get there early for FREE PIZZA! See you Friday Night, Fananas! --TBC

TBC at the BOB

The Banana Convention has a rare Wednesday night perfomance tomorrow/tonight (depending on when you read this), 5/12, when we return to The B.O.B. in Grand Rapids. It's an early night for us and you as we'll be performing from 8pm-11pm, so don't worry about the fact that it's in the middle of the week. We'll be done early enough for you to still get home and tucked in to bed nice and comfy for you to be back to work on Thursday morning.

We've been in the giving mood lately, giving away lots of free merchandise like CDs and T-Shirts at our shows. If you come out to The B.O.B. on Wednesday night, who knows what you might walk away with! See you in Grand Rapids, Fananas!

Runner Ups

The Banana Convention took the Runner Up spot at the Rock Your Way To The Top Battle of the Bands competition this past Saturday night! We are pleased as punch with this victory and we thank each and every one of you Banana Fannas who made your way up there to support us. I don't think we've ever felt more like rock stars than you made us feel on Saturday. Thanks so much! As a part of our Runner Up prize, we have won some recording time at Radius Recording Studio in Traverse City, and what that means for our Fananas is a brand new album of freshly recorded material from The Banana Convention! Once that gets under way, I'll be sure to keep y'all up to date

Speaking of fresh new recordings, we just spent a little time at the Andy Reed Recording Studio in Bay City and kicked out a new version of our song New Day. Check out our ReverbNation.com profile to have a listen!

Moving forward, we have a number of great shows ahead of us, beginning tomorrow night, 5/6, at Mort's Northern Bar in Bay City. It's a Thursday night and it's The Banana Convention, and it's just us all night long, so come on out and have some fun on a "school night".

Over the weekend, we return to Michael's in Ludington. It's been a few months since we've been there, but it's always one heck of a party with our friends on the West Side of the state. We'll be at Michael's on both Friday AND Saturday nights, 5/7 and 5/8. Come hang out, eat, dance, sing, and party with TBC all weekend long!

And for those of you who like to plan a little in advance, next Wednesday night, 5/12, we are back in Grand Rapids out at The B.O.B. for an early show. Don't worry about staying up too late, as we'll be performing from 8-11pm. We hope to see all our Grand Rapids peeps out in full force next Wednesday night

That's FOUR great shows to look forward to. Hope to see you there, Fananas. And thanks again for being so awesome

Rock To The Top

This Saturday, 5/1, The BC head back up to the Traverse City area to compete in the finals of the Rock Your Way To The Top Battle of the Bands competition at the Leelenau Sands Casino. We'll be hitting the stage opposite 7 other bands in this high stakes Battle, and we hope to come out on top. The Battle will be in the Casino Showroom, doors open at 6pm, and the first band hits the stage at 7. Tickets are only $5, so please come on out and support us! We already have a great bunch of Fananas in tap, but we can always use more. We won't know when we will be performing until we get there on Saturday as the band order is chosen by a random drawing, so you'll want to make sure you're there early in case we're the first band on stage that night. And not only is all THAT happening, but there will also be a special performance that evening by Mini-KISS!! You can NOT miss this night.

See you on Saturday when we Rock Our Way To The Top with all our Banana-Fannas!

And you choose the price. Just pay us what you think it's worth and you'll get full access to everything! Amazing!

Now, with that little plug out of the way, let's talk about this upcoming weekend. This Friday night, 4/16, The BC returns to our backyard at White's Bar here in Saginaw. That's not the only return, though, as the one and only Trinidad Jones makes his way back to the fold to jam with us for the evening. Plus, it's TJ's Birthday weekend! But wait, there's more!! Also joining us for this already super jam packed night will be Doogie and Flight Squadron Yon! That's one heck of a night and one heck of a show! Show kicks off at 10pm, so don't be late!

Then, on Saturday night 4/17, we hit up the historical Schuch Hotel on Hamilton Street in Saginaw. It's been several years since we've been at the Schuch, so we're looking to get back there and rock the centruy old building to it's foundation. Flight Squadron Yon will again be performing with us, as well as their fellow Petoskey rockers Labellum. We're planning to rock so hard that maybe some of the ghosts who inhabit the top floors of the Schuch will come out and party with us. This show also kicks off at 10pm. Don't miss out!

See you this weekend, Fananas!
