Hey Grumpies! The Love Hope Strength foundation, an amazing organization that raises money for cancer research, has a stage at the Union County Music Fest each year. And this year they had a band competition called "Show Your Strength" where they had bands record a video of themselves performing their version of the Alarm's "Strength". The winner gets to play at the festival in September!
Well.. Loki the Grump was VERY lucky to have been selected as one of the 5 finalists!! :)-
And now, we need YOU! PLEASE, please, please help us secure that coveted spot at the festival!
Just go to: http://www.perurocks.org/show-your-strength
watch the videos cause ALL the bands are very cool!!... then scroll ALL the way down and vote for Loki the Grump! EVERY DAY! Until August 15th anyway. ;)- heheheh
That's it! Real simple!
And PLEASE forward to everyone you know and get 'em to vote, too!!!
Thank you so much!!
Hellloooooo Grumpies! Hard to believe it's only been a little over a month since the Hank's show, and that Easter & changing the clocks for Daylight Savings have already come and gone! It feels like forever already and LOKI THE GRUMP misses you terribly! So... we've been working hard on a couple of new songs and we're THRILLED to be presenting these to you on April 16th!! Get ready for your new theme song... ;)- And we're playing at a cool new club, for us anyway. So lots o'new Grumpy stuff going on. AND, if you are an "official" Grumpy (as in, on the Grumpy eList), you'll be getting A SPECIAL DISCOUNT COUPON for $2 off at the door, which will be coming in a separate email. Since it IS a new club, we could really use your support at the show. (Not an official Grumpy yet?... join the eList, it's not too late!) Here are the details: Wed. April 16th - 8:00pm @ R-Bar 218 Bowery (b/w Prince & Spring) NYC 10012 212-334-0484 $8 admission - 21+ w/ID ($6 for Grumpies w/pass) For further info: www.rbarnyc.com R-Bar Special: $2 BUD LIGHTS 7-8PM Directions * R/W train to Prince Street * 6 to Spring Street * B/D/F/V to Broadway-Lafayette (walk East to Bowery) OR * F/V to 2nd Avenue (walk West to Bowery) And.. what appears to now be part of new drummer Christian's grumpy m.o... he has gone and broken his wrist (for those of you at the Hank's show you might remember he had pneumonia!) SO... although he WILL be there and we might force him to do some one-handed percussion or something.. (tambourine on an LTG song? hmmmmm).. Phil B. from G-spot kindly jumped in last minute to help us out that night! And extremely talented singer/songwriter Garry Novikoff, who has now become your favorite LTG bkg vocalist (we just know this), will be there as well with bells.. or red pants.. or both on! One never knows with Garry... (His new CD is just about to be released.. look out for that one!) We are flying solo this show... as in no GRGR this night! However... some amazing GRGR plans are in progress at the moment. If you've seen the calendar, you can see that the GRGR grrrls are extremely busy planning the 2008 Tour and its gonna be amazing! To keep everyone updated on all the details, introduce cool bands and keep up with GRGR happenings we launched a monthly newsletter on April 1st. If you're not already subscribed to it, you should asap. It's AMAZING!!! Check it out for yourself: http://www.americassweetheart.tv/grgrnewsletter/GRGR_Newsletter_April_08.html That's it for now Grumpies! CAN'T WAIT to see you on the 16th! :)- Hope you have a rockin' day and remember.. it's GOOD to GET GRUMPY! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!
