July 12, 2012 Double Dee Hosts a Riff Raff Affair

Last night at Tom's Extreme Pizzaria Double Dee hosted the Songwriter's Night from 6-9. In attendance were the Gulf Coast Riff Raff who shared the stage the entire evening. Dixie Stradtner debuted her delightful new single "Soup's On" and performed her recent ballad "I Don't Want to Be a Memory. Scott Stradtner joined Dixie and Double Dee for their animated rendition of Louisiana cover "Marie LeVeaux". Double Dee had the crowd "Jumpin' Like Mullet" with their delivery of recent patriotic single "This is My Country. Fellow "Riff Raff" songwriter Dana Woods shook the stage with her rockin' originals and popular covers. "Mama's Baby" is always an original favorite among Dana's listeners and fans shoud be ready for her upcoming brand new tunes. Check her reverbnation page for Dana's venue schedue. Robert Joseph joined the Riff Raff stage with his ever popular "Leisure Time" and the company played and swayed to his coastal melodic waves. David Jordan of Magee was invited to the platform where he debuted his comedic country original "The Stereotypical Country Song".

July 11, 2012,Matt Hoggatt and Double Dee at the Tiki

As promised, the boiled shrimp overflowed the plates of the Tiki patrons and the sounds of Matt Hoggatt and Double Dee literally went in one ear and out the other as the trio mixed acoustic, banjo, harmonicas and percussion sticks throughout the Wednesday evening crowd on July 11th. Matt's stirring "Picture of Free" single jump-started Double Dee's debut of their second patriotic single "This Is My Country Life". Blending originals, harmonies, instruments and personalities these three put on quite the three hour show. Keep checking the reverbnation page for future appearances at the Tiki.

Double Dee's Latest Single

Coming soon to this page is Double Dee's latest single "This is My Country Life". Inspired by a Sunday sermon and our nation's recent birthday the singer songwriter duo will be debuting their second patriotic original on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

Leo's with Matt Hoggatt and Double Dee

From the moment we stepped in to Leo's we were feelin' the love. It continued throughout the night as our faithful songwriting family members showed up one by one to cheer Matt Hoggatt and Darwin and I on. After a rousing introduction by friend and fellow musician Scott Stradtner, the concert started with our latest single, "Mom and Daddy's in a Country Band". Matt followed with his crowd pleasin, "Minivan Kind of Man". One would have thought there was a tennis match going on at Leo's Pizza on stage as Matt and Darwin and I parlayed tunes, instruments and harmonies back and forth. Last night Matt interviewed us on the radio for Margaritaville with his sidekick and fellow parrothead Randy Hines. George Cumbest known to his music buds as "Cat Daddy" recorded the interview on the sidewalk on Government Street. He is also the founder of the Mississippi Songwriter's Festival which has become a music phenomenon along the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Thanks again to Leo's for having us. We love playing and entertaining in this songwriter family friendly venue. Next month we will be hosting on Thursday evening, August 2nd from 7-10 and Brandon Green will be our special guest.

City of Lucedale 4th of July Celebration

Thanks to Rocky, Barry, Dwayne, Phillip, and Scott and Dixie Stradtner for pulling off quite a full day of local and regional acts. The young people of our county showcased their talent earlier this afternoon and after Double Dee and the Stadtners played "blues" took control for the rest of the evening. Thousands came out to the Lucedale Marketplace in anticipation of the annual fireworks show. The people were not disappointed. Concerts continued after the show and the highlight of the night was a Delta Blues singer known as "Mark the Muleman" and the Massey Blues Band that rocked the parking lot. An 88 year old woman was seen dancing in the dark. There was something for everyone from ages 2-92. America...Happy Birthday and may God continue to bless this free country as we keep our eyes on Him.
