I have been invited to play the musicSPARK Festival 2015 in Raleigh, NC on Saturday, September 19, 3pm at the Courthouse Porch Stage. This is a wonderful three day arts festival. I hope if you're local you'll come out and take it in, and if you do, plan to swing by and see us.
I'll be backing Kevin Michael Thompson as he performs cuts from his latest CD "Good News in These Bad Times" during this CD release party at The Peak United Methodist Church on Friday, May 15th. If you're local, come and join in the fun!

This is some gritty, bluesy, soulful Christian folk rock music. Best I've heard in years. Hope to see you there!
This weekend, Andrea Sullivan and will join Tom Blalock and myself to record several songs for Andrea's youtube channel, The Savoy Sisters at https://www.youtube.com/user/TheSavoySisters . Andrea will be trying out for "The Voice" this year, so keep your eyes on her. Almost unfair for one family to have this much talent but I'm glad to play a small part in it!
Just got notification that someone from NYC bought and downloaded the acoustic version of Female Figures - my first copy sold! Thank you to the buyer!
The electric version of Female Figures has been recorded and mixed. I began production of the accompanying video Tuesday, Nov 4th shooting close ups of Mara R. Final production is this Saturday, Nov 8th, followed by editing at the studio.
Spent Sunday, Oct 19 in the home studio working on cutting tracks for the electric version of "Female Figures (We're Not Just Talking 36-24-36)" with Chris Dez, who's producing the song. So far, so great! Got the vocals, drums and guitar tracks ready to go. Today we capture the acoustic guitar, then bass. This thing is finally under way and moving forward. Stay tuned, it's gonna be a fun ride!
Been busy lately preparing to enter "Female Figures" into a competition where the winner gets to perform live on the Jimmy Kimmel show. Yeah, it's a long shot but somebody's going to win, so it might as well be me. Re-recording an electric version of "Female Figures" in the home studio, then I'm making plans to produce a video of the song for the competition. Win or tie, it's gonna be a fun project.
"Why So Serious?", which is myself and Mark Helms playing a gamut of songs from top hits to incredibly obscure ones, is gaining momentum. We're currently booked twice on September 20th at the Lillington Arts Festival & the West Oaks Neighborhood pool party, then September 23 for the grand opening of Tyler's in Fuquay-Varina. Hope you and your family can join us at one of these events!
Been working on original material lately, firming up arrangements and lyrics with an eye on recording. Just completed and entered "Female Figures" into Music World's "Acoustic Nation" song writing competition in Nashville. Focusing next on "Lonely".
For those interested, a little more info about the Food Bank of Eastern NC's 2013 Benefit than my original post on my ReverbNation site would allow.
I'll be performing blues & rock originals with Mark Helms as we revive our "Why So Serio...us?" duet. We'll also cover Robin Trower and Oasis (among others). The event will begin streaming LIVE via YouTube from the Food Bank's Raleigh Warehouse at 12 noon on Friday, September 13 and continue through 12 noon on Saturday, September 14. Mark and I go on at 9pm-11pm Friday night, Sept 13th. The event will be hosted by Gregory Ng of the popular online frozen food review show, FreezerBurns and will raise awareness, funds and food as part of Hunger Action Month.
I hope you'll watch, but more importantly, I hope you'll consider a donation to help the fight against hunger. For more information, see http://www.foodbankcenc.org/site/PageServer?pagename=telethon
