For the Love of the Music

Why are artists making hip hop specifically about money and material objects? It doesn't even matter if you're rich or not, that's what your music is all about. I mean....shit, I jus bought your CD at some random gas station for $3, and when I popped it in my player, the first song I heard was called "Bitch I Get Dough"....Wow. First of all, that music isn't going to be appreciated, especially if you're an up-and-coming artist cause we hear enough about that on mainstream radio...which is ridiculous. What happened to music being an expression of your life or feelings, about having a good time?
