Oh Hello

It's finally summer, kind of. And it's time for all our favorite music festivals to take over. So we imagine you'll be keeping up with all your favorite bands to see who's playing what. While we haven't gotten on board any festival ( YET ),we have a few great shows coming up REALLY soon that you should definitely try your hardest to make it out to! If you haven't made it out to a Sayonara show yet, we certainly suggest you do! You've only heard 5 or our 12 songs! Can you even fathom that? Look at our "sounds like" section on our Reverbnation page; These are not jokes! We pack a blistering punch at our shows and if you are a fan of any of our "sounds like" influences, you will love our music. We have a few new songs that we just finished recording as well as a redo of "Discourage Wolf". So, if you're in the DFW area, get your music loving ass to a Sayonara show. Check them out at the bottom of our Reverbnation page. More new songs are to be written and recorded very soon. Spread the love and tell someone about us today. Show them the "Mothership" video. Get everyone pumped! That's what it takes! BREAK!

Winter is over....

As we move closer to spring and warmer weather, there's an excitement in the air that feels like the calm before a wonderful and chaotic storm. These past 6 months have been the busiest of mine and the rest of Sayonara's lives. Our songs are now becoming the kinds I always wanted to write. I don't think I could be happier with anything else. With all that said, the next 6 months are going to be even busier for us and we'd love for you to join us for the wild ride. So here's some news:

Ernie Ball's yearly contest to play Warped tour has just begun! Pretty sure you can vote once a day, but we're not quite sure. Just click here to cast your vote for us! http://warped.battleofthebands.com/u/sayonarasounds

We've got a LOT of shows in the DFW area coming up ,so come out to one so you can hear brand new songs, guaranteed to blow ya mind! We've come a very very long way since Kidnapped and Ganesh, trust me. We are going to start finishing up our full-length album in the next few weeks! It's looking like it's gonna have 12 tracks and hopefully be ready by the end of the summer! Until then, we thought about posting some home demos/ideas of new songs so you can hear. Good idea? Not so good? We'll see where it goes. We have our bandanas available on my etsy store at the moment but will soon also have dvds ( with our performances in Austin and the "Mothership' music video ), stickers, buttons, shirts, and more. I'll be adding them all over the next couple weeks. Here's the link to my store. Just click Sayonara Store on the left in sections: http://www.etsy.com/shop/Kawaiioncanvas That's pretty much it! We're just playing and writing a lot and very anxious to get all of our songs heard by everyone! You can count on more cool/different merch stuff very soon too. Make sure to share our facebook page to fellow music lovers. Until next time, thank you for listening and stay real ;D

You want it, we've got it

We're fans of using our own lyrics as subject fields. With that said, I just wanted to drop in and remind you that today is the LAST DAY you can download our song, Bulletproof Tiger, for free. It's a free song for you and a vote for us to have a chance to go play a show in London! So please, if you live in or around Dallas, take a sec to download our song at the link on the bottom of this message ( and don't hesitate telling your friends ;D

Also, we have been playing around with Ustream and plan on streaming our practice today around 4:00-5:00. Check our Twitter or Facebook statuses later for a better update on time.

Kickstarter reward packs are almost all ready to go! We're just waiting on buttons to arrive. So look for your packages in the mail sometime next week!

We hope everyone is doing great! We have so much planned for this year and we need all the support we can get. There's news everyday so stay connected!

Peace. -Debbie

Kickstarter is a GO!

Happy 11/11/11 everyone!!! A big day indeed for those who are spiritually connected with the planet and beyond. Whether a portal or two will bust open or we all figure out what we need to do to be happy, change is coming and we only hope it's a wonderful one. The past few weeks have been intense for us in Sayonara. Just last weekend, we went to Austin to play a show while also spending 4 days shooting the video for our song "Mothership" ( check out the rough mix here------http://soundcloud.com/sayonarasounds/mothership-bryan-david-mix) The new songs we're writing are VERY different and were completely stoked to share them once they are finished. We are speeding things along with the release of our EP and have been battling, within ourselves, the proper way to release music these days. That is why I uploaded the most recent versions of some of our songs, even though they are not finalized. I've learned that by NOT putting your best sounding stuff out to hear, you don't get the reactions/gigs/or recognition that you very well deserve. This is not a cocky statement I'll have you know. The industry is fucked and there is no time to lose in a world of mediocrity and money. I believe Sayonara has something great and it needs to be shared with everyone NOW. So over the next few weeks, we will be booking a bunch of shows in Dallas Ft. Worth as well as getting merch for you guys to take and use as bait and tackle ( anyone remember what a Street Team is? ). It's time for the little guys ( bands! ) to come together again and rise from the ashes. Work together, just like people did in the old days. Help each other out with shows and sharing friends' music with fans. This is not a difficult thing. Today could be the day of shifting. We shall see. We in Sayonara cherish our friendships; I Am Warbird, The Demigods, Playtime Rabbit, Werewolf Therewolf. Yes I'm name dropping because I care :D I've gone off on a rant, but who cares. We're ready to make things happen and it's happening now. Keep an eye on our activity throughout the next 3 months. Big things are coming soon.- Debbie

Hey everyone, it's been a fast flying couple of weeks for us. The acoustic show with Fair To Midland was amazing and we hope to play with them again very soon. Just to inform you, we are currently undergoing a revamping of sorts and have altered the member lineup just a little. No delays so far on plans. We'll continue our EP recording process later this month with Mr. Bryan David and finish it Next month with Kerry and Couderay Music/Lilypad up in Illinois. Between then and now, we'll be doing a lot of writing and possibly acoustic sets as well, so be on the lookout for a surprise via us at a dive or bar. We love you all and can't thank you enough for your support and nice messages :D

Where have you been? Hm?

Why hello. How are you? Would you like some news? Well let's see here

We've been writing yes and have three brand new songs you can get your ears on at one of our next shows. Might we suggest the July 2nd show in Denton with Fair To Midland at Andy's? This is a very special acoustic show they will be playing before any other before their new album "Anchors and Arrows" is released on the 12th. Sayonara and Pale Horse will also be playing acoustic.

We will be going into the studio very soon to finish recording our yet unnamed EP so be on the lookout for updates on that. We're planning on 5 songs, but that may change. It'll be a tough choice to choose which 5 out of 12 will be on it, but we will do our best to get our favs on there!

We're doing good on getting more fans and likes via Facebook/Twitter but could definitely use some help! Sign up for the Sayonara Street Team on Reverbnation to get mission messages in your e-mail!

We hope to see you all very soon at an upcoming show. Talk to us! Send a message or comment on one of our pages. That'd be swell!

The Horizon and what's on it

Righty-O! Howdy Doody all and all. Been a while since the last update, so it's time to freshen the place up a bit. What has SAYONARA been up to? Plenty plenty plenty! Take a look around our site and you'll see we have a lot planned for the next few months, and it's only gonna get more busy. We've got our number one man, Kerry at Lilypad, getting oodles of goodies ready for an awesome podcast and happy Record Store Day. What's record store day? Go look it up, because I didn't even know what it was and it should be a lot of fun. We're working on two new songs now and you can expect to hear them at one of our next gigs coming up in the next two months. So while we do all the work :P, how's about you help us out a little by sharing us on Facebook, Twitter, and through those lovely speakers while you have friends over? That's what friends do! If you live in TX, come out to one of our upcoming shows! We will kiss your faces with extreme diligence!!!

- Debbie

Update Update!!! Get it FRESH!!

We've been hard at work finishing up the demos for our soon-to-be released ep/album Youth In Asia! We're very excited to have so many shows coming up and with great bands as well. At the end of February, me and Sean will be flying to Chicago to record the goods with Columbia College Music Proffessor Mr. Kerry Kelekovich. It should be a fun trip and the sounds that come out of it will blow our Garage Band demos out of the water (even though they ARE pretty righteous for being Garage Band recordings). We should have at least two more demos up for you all before we leave next month. So spread the Sayonara word with mouth, social networking, banners, music players! Whatever it takes! We love you all and are bright-eyed, bushy tailed ready for the future :D Peace

Debbie (Sayonara)

And then.....

Our tiny TX tour was a success! Even after a month and a half without full band practice, we managed to get three awesome shows together. Once again, Eric has returned to Illinois and the continuation of the writing process begins. We have about half of an album done. In late February, Sean and I will be meeting with Eric up in Chicago to record the Sayonara album with Kerry Kelekovich of Lilypad Records. So enjoy your holiday, everyone, and look forward to Sayonara busting through the scene very very soon.
