Senseless

While waiting for inspiration for more songs for "The Band" I came up with a song for someone who I haven't seen in a very very long time... This sort of has led me to start writing a concept album on it. The first song on it is called "Blind". I'll give a brief rundown of the album here so you can follow it as the songs get put up.

Blind- A young woman, Kazi, is singing to her Spiritual Guardian, Gregor, wondering where he is after he was nearly destroyed by a rather malevolent spirit. She has had so many problems lately that she wonders if he is even around anymore. She wonders if maybe she is just going blind.

Deaf (working title)- Kazi tries to tell a young man she loves him. He seems to be deaf as no matter how many times she tells him how great he is, he doesn't believe it. frustrated, she believe he is deaf to her.

Tactile- The Young Man cannot bring himself to hold Kazi when she needs him the most. He explains that it's not her. He just doesn't know what to do for her.

Forget- Kazi reveals that she is a keeper of memories. She has stored every memory from when she was born until now. She explains how difficult it is for her to live a normal life when she is constantly reminded of her own failures in life.

Taste- Kazi and the Young Man get a drink. She considers the taste of the beer, the tastelessness of the bread, and soon ponders the taste of the Young Man's sudden kiss.

Sudden Senses- The Young Man suddenly reveals himself at that moment to be Gregor... or rather a channel for him at the moment. Kazi and Gregor are finally reunited it seems. Gregor, as the Young Man, takes Kazi home

Out- The Young Man, drunk and no longer channeling Gregor, realises what he has done with Kazi and commands her to leave. After this rage, he realises again what he has done but before he can do anything, he passes out.

Touch- Kazi reflects on her night with the Young Man and Gregor and distinguishes between the two different touches.

Forget (reprise)- Kazi, haunted by memories finally has had enough. She finds herself walking absentmindedly across a street. Suddenly, as she thinks of how to forget everything, it is done for her as a car strikes her.

Smell- The Young Man sits in the hospital room next to Kazi's lifeless body. He is struck by the fact he cannot smell anything for it is so sterile in the room. He suddenly can smell something, the smell of pipe smoke. He cannot see anyone smoking a pipe until he suddenly comes face to face with Gregor.

Senseless/ Don't Forget/ Touch (reprise)- Gregor explains to the Young Man that he was the last chance Gregor had with connecting to Kazi again. He also tells him of how Kazi was a memory keeper and that the stress of so many memories is what has led to her premature death. The Young Man pleads with Gregor to not let her die as she is his friend, but Gregor tells him it is not for him to decide. The Young Man reflects on his night with Kazi and the vague memories he has of it. He slowly starts realising he does love her as Gregor starts to slowly absorb himself into the Young Man. He finds himself pleading with Death for Kazi's life. Death does not state whether or not he will spare Kazi but instead tells the Young Man not to forget but to always remember what he has learned from this loss. The Young Man find himself singing to Kazi as Death repeatedly tells him not to forget.

Please keep checking back here to listen to more of the demos.
