Introducing Mercy Vice

Mercy Vice was born in Odessa Texas. Music was a part of her life as long as she can remember. She was always dressing up and singing for my family and friends. Music was a part of her family growing up, her uncle played the guitar and dad played the harmonica."I basically always wanted to be on the big stage". She was in choir all through school and always looked for a musical outlet. Her musical influences are very diverse. Granny loved Elvis, mom was hippy and daddy loved country. The biggest influences as far as female blues artist are Janis Joplin, Etta James, Koko Taylor, Bonnie Raitt and Susan Tedeschi. Mercy moved to Austin 11 years ago and knew it was in the right place to experience all the music and culture that she hadn't experienced anywhere else. Being on stage and performing is her lifelong dream. "Music expresses what I cannot say and moves me in ways that nothing else does." You can see her debut performance with The Blues Posse this Friday 10/18 at Brass House, 115 San Jacinto Blvd., Austin TX 78701 from 9pm-1am. Come hear this songbird shake your bones!
