Aaron E. Neubauer Music / Blog

Glad To Be Here!

It's been awhile since I've written a blog and much has happened in the last couple of months. In late February I had a minor stroke which forced me to put music on hiatus for over a month. I was very fortunate that there was no paralysis, though the stroke did affect my memory and cognition for awhile. I have been taking baby steps for the past month and a half trying to get my endurance back for live shows. It's been a tough road, but I have great medical care and I am well on the path to full recovery. On a brighter note, my old band In Left Field has reunited and will be performing shows this summer. I am very excited about this band getting back together. We always gelled well musically, but life stepped in the way back in 2011 and we broke up. We have had some great rehearsals and will be hitting some open mics over the next month to get ready for playing live shows. I will also continue to play solo shows from time to time. I will play my first solo show back from my medical hiatus at the Outrigger in Palacios, TX on May 4th. I will also play a solo show in Austin at Kick Butt Coffee on may 10th. My good friend Roger Harvey will be joining me for these shows as well! I am so excited and ready to get back to playing live! It's been a long bumpy ride lately, stay tuned.

A New Direction

2013 has gotten off to a busy start, at least behind the scenes. The year started with David White and I deciding to part ways. We were trying to go in two separate musical directions and we decided the best thing to do would be to pursue those directions separately. I will continue to support David and his music. A very cool thing happened mid-January when Route 90, by buddy Hideki Domyoji's band from Japan cut "Train Bound For Texas" as the B-side of their new single "Dawn of Miyako". The song turned out great and has gotten good response. I am very honored that they decided to cut it! I also booked my first solo show in Austin which will be on May 10th. I have always enjoyed playing in Austin and am working on booking more shows there. I am also working on booking shows in Corpus as well. There is still much to be done and it's taking a little longer than I anticipated, but I am not deterred. 2013 will be my year! Thank you again for your support and friendship. Stay tuned!.

The Ball Is Rolling!

So much has happened since the release of "Song For Debra"! The song has been very well received and has been followed by the release of "I Heard The Bells On Christmas Day" and "Cajun Woman", which are the first two singles from my new band Eldon Perry. David White and I have produced these singles and have come up with a signature sound that fans from all over the world have been embracing. The music has gone world wide and the response has been amazing to say the least. I also had the honor of having one of my songs recorded by Route 90, an awesome Japanese blues band. The song will be released as a single in January 2013 and will also appear on their new album which will be out next year. Thanks again to Hideki Domyoji for the opportunity! Eldon Perry will be going on the road starting in 2013; We are still in the planning stages right now, but there is no doubt that we will be playing shows soon, hopefully as soon as January 2013. This is only the beginning! Have a wonderful holiday season and stay tuned!

Welcome to the Machine!

October has been a very busy month behind the scenes. Early in the month I was asked by a friend of mine who has an awesome blues band in Japan to co-write a song with him for a future single and album release. The single should be out in the January-February 2013 time frame. Also, after months of preperation and finding the right sound, my next single "Song For Debra" is set for rellease in early November! I am very proud of this song, but it was never intended to be the next single. The song was the product of a writing session in the studio that was recorded. We put the raw verson out to "test the waters" so to speak and it got a great response! This inspired up to cut the song and release it as the next single. We also recorded a song called "Cajun Woman" which David White wrote and which I also sang lead on. The song will be his next single release on the Cody Dog Music label, while "Song For Debra will be the first release on my new label "Neubauer Music". Now the real work begins in promoting the songs. Getting them on I-tunes and getting them to radio. We are focusing overseas for the moment, but there will be an eventual release in the US. Things are about to get interesting! Stay tuned...

Below the Surface

This month has been pretty quiet on the music front, at least on the surface. I played the Nekkid Armadilla Music Fest in Palacios over Labor day weekend and the show went well. I also got the opportunity to jam with a friend of mine that I hadn't seen in over 12 years. The rest of the month was spent in the studio for the most part. The project that David White and I have been working on has been challenging to say the least, but we are slowly creating some great music that I am very proud of. This music is definitely not what most wiill expect from me, but it is great music with a somewhat soul and r&B edge (old school soul and r&b). I have had to fight my impatient nature several times throughout this project, but I have found the joy in playing music again and I know that the album will be fantastic once it's completed. In the meantime, my thoughts have turned to collaborating with some old friends with the hope of writing some new songs and exploring new musical avenues. I'm also getting the itch to play live again and I may start booking more gigs soon. In the meantime...stay tuned!

Eldon Perry and Big Changes on the Way

Lots of changes have happened since I last posted. David White and I are furiously at work on a new album called "Eldon Perry" which will showcase my voice and his guitar playing. The album has a Stax 1960s Soul flavor and many of my fans will probably see it as a departure from the more country influenced music I've done as of late. Some may find it hard to believe that 60s and 70s soul is my favorite style of music and that this music showcases my voice in the best possible way. We are creating an album which will consist of a combination of my songs, songs written by David White, a couple of songs written together and a couple of carefully chosen covers. A short clip of "I've Been Loving You Too Long" was released on my Facebook and Reverbnation pages earlier this week and has gotten great response! The 1st single will be out very soon, with a Christmas release date for the album. I am also closing a chapter on strictly performing solo shows and anticipate that David and I will be forming a band very soon. Japan also seems to be very receptive to this music so we're not ruling out a tour of Japan early next year.

I hope you'll support this new music and please.. Stay Tuned!

Back in Business

Some of y'all that know me know that the last few months have been pretty unsettled for me and my family. We finally moved into the new house this week and my home office has been up and running since Sunday the 29th. There are so many projects on the horizon that I haven't had a chance to work on that I am finally getting the chance to work on. I just submitted a song to possibly be included in a movie and I am working on the new album. I will be playing the Nekkid Armadilla Music Festival in Palacios over Labor Day Weekend. I am also very excited to announce a promotion I am doing for the month of August. I will donate a portion of the proceeds from any of the songs downloaded on my ReverbNation page to the MS Society. Multiple Sclerosis is a disease that has affected my family and I want to do my little part to help find a cure. Here's the link: http://www.reverbnation.com/store/index/artist_1015316 Thanks for staying with me! The best is yet to come. Stay Tuned.....

Plugging Right Along

The big news for this month’s blog is that my first single, “I’m Done” is finished and is in the process of being marketed via internet and radio. This single was completed over Memorial Day weekend, after halting sessions for “Dancing On The Edge Of The Storm” because they weren’t progressing like we had hoped. I love the song though and will return to it very soon. I also played my first show outside of Corpus on June 9th which was at The Outrigger in Palacios. It was a great homecoming and I saw people I had not seen in over 20 years and I also got to play with one of my best friends, Roger Harvey, who played percussion for the show. I also performed 4 songs about Palacios, two of which I had written for the show. I can’t wait to go back on July 7th! I am also playing the Colet Inn in Victoria on June 29th and looking forward to that as well. I have been spending most of my time behind the scenes working on broadening my reach to other areas of Texas and planning the direction of my career. There are a lot of options in front of me and I want to make sure make smart decisions. It’s amazing to me, even at this early point in my career some of the decisions I’ve been faced with. I can see how easy it is to sell your soul in this business. I will do all I can to never do that. Thanks again to all of you who spread the word about this music. It means so much to me that this music has touched your lives. I will never take that for granted. Until next time… Stay Tuned
