PROUD PRESENTS 30th March Proud Camden presents another showcase of exciting unsigned bands LIVE Chapter 24 Talking Pictures Origami Dinosaur Nimmo & the Gauntletts Chapter 24 NME say: This London quartet are a riposte to any punk-rock bore who tells you musical competency is the enemy of DIY. Tonight guitarist Joe Green plays his sky blue Danelectro like Jimi Hendrix raised on The Slits. Sure, ambition will always triumph over ability, but this band have both in teapot-loads - barefoot, glitter daubed singer Claire Smith is a star-in-waiting, coming on like Bjork crying her eyes out because Syd Barrett hasn't returned her calls. Really, there's so many ideas on display here, the little bastards should be Taxed or something. James McMahon, NME Talking Pictures Origami Dinosaur "Brighton based Origami Dinosaur combine big beats with groovy bass, twangy telecaster with soft and intricate harmonies. Its a little bit rock, folk, gypsy, funk and perhaps a twinge of 60's psychedelia... it is also absolutely none of those things" Nimmo and the Gauntletts Led by two charismatic front girls, Sarah Nimmo and Reva Gauntlett, this London/Brighton 5 piece play high energy folk infused indie. Entry is £3 All door money will be distributed between bands depending on the crowd they bring in. Just say the name of the band you want to support when you pay and the money will go straight to them at the end of the evening. http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=106890749334942&index=1
