"It is very rare I see support bands these days but tonight Birmingham’s very own ‘New Killer Shoes’ sounded surprisingly crystal and tight indeed and ended their short set with a superb stomp-a-thon and cacophony of instruments that would have been fitting to ending a headline set let alone a minor support slot… Definitely worth checking them out."
"This is the third time this year I’ve seen the Redditch-based foursome live, and every time I see them they somehow manage to raise the bar. It was astounding just how comfortable they looked on the stage, with front man Jon commanding respect and interacting fluently with the audience. They also have the songs and the talent to easily command a full-house like the one tonight. Their debut album should hopefully be hitting the shelves pretty soon, and in twelve months’ time I totally expect it to be them as headliners selling out venues such as this. I think they have the songs and the personality to achieve great things. Do yourself a favour and check them out, they’re one of the best young live bands I’ve seen for a long time."
"Third band on tonight were New Killer Shoes and even before they struck their first note, the crowd here tonight were up front and ready for action and boy oh boy did this band do themselves and their fans proud. I found myself stood, with mouth wide open, watching some pretty insane moshing front of stage (the sort you fear could cause spinal damage!) With a gritty, yet melodic rock’n’roll vibe, every song was a complete gem and with front man Jon Kings having an immense voice and stage presence, the room was left drenched in adrenaline. One set from these guys was simply not enough and with a new album on the horizon, I will definitely be buying it."
