“Neo-Safari - Coastal Cruise: Sounds like - Teen Daze, Red Ranger, Blackbird Blackbird. What's so good? Just as I was moving on from the Texas music scene, Dallas-based Neo-Safari shows up with his cool name and his cool sound. I’ve been listening to his debut EP nonstop and after countless listens it is time to show Neo-Safari some proper music blog love. “Coastal Cruise” is a solid intro to the EP as well as to the artist. I want to play this track in the car, at the office, everywhere. Same goes for his Grimes and Tennis reworks. All six tracks on the EP are handsomely crafted and deserve some attention. Be sure to support Neo-Safari and enjoy his video for “Coastal Cruise” below.”

“This song will find that part of your brain where tunes and melodies will just live for ages, driving you insane as you struggle to remember where you heard it. Right now, there are seemingly thousands of crickets chirping outside my house, and this EP is the only thing keeping me sane. “What does it sound like?” I thought you might want to know: it sounds like the clouds and oceans are hugging each other.”

“Last month, Dallas Musician Neo-Safari released their wonderfully eclectic debut EP titled ‘EP’ and at the begining of this week he drops another amazing tune ‘While Dreaming’. Listen to both below.”

“(Google French to English Translation) The songs follow, it is clearly electro, pleasant enough, the whole forming a cohesive unit rather from beginning to end. After the first song Coastal Cruise , which offers a very smooth introduction, we move to the sounds much more jerky and a bit more assertive, while remaining within a musicality constantly trying to flatter you eardrums, including The Ballad of Stingbot or Primal Cheer . Mattresses narcolepsy sound married to a slight tendency to epilepsy. Sounds retros skillfully integrated into a universe marked undeniably contemporary beats, like a nostalgic taste of technology. The same nostalgia found in the video for Coastal cruise, a potpourri of vintage video game sequences. It's monotonous, and it looks without complaining”

“Neo-Safari - While Dreaming: Easy Heights - We’re just going to go ahead and ease our way back into the week after an eventful weekend with some dreamy chilled beats and what better way to do that than with Dallas’ Neo-Safari and his latest offering “While Dreaming”. The piece begins by gently caressing you via a warm, thumping-heartbeat of a bass drum and swirling synth arpeggios until reaching its climactic center of skillfully chopped vocal-samples and big, satisfying beats. Take it easy and grab this beat over at Soundcloud or Bandcamp.”

“Neo-Safari is a giant shroud of mystery. I can't seem to find any information other than that Neo-Safari is based out of Dallas, Texas. I suppose, I'll just have to focus on the music, instead of the mastermind behind it. Let me start of by saying the glitch on this EP is some of the best I've heard. It's unpredictable and endlessly interesting. Neo-Safari is like the jailhouse warden to his music, and the songs are his prisoners. It's as if the songs themselves want to break out into full verses and choruses, but they are confined to their random glitches. Neo-Safari keeps them locked in their electronic cells, behind bars of synthesizers, because he knows that if they were freed from their hopeful glitches, they would be no good to society. The magic is within the glitchy-ness, no verses or choruses needed at all. The EP is a complete joy to listen to. Definitely check this one out.”

“Dallas, Texas’ Neo-Safari, the cool new guy at the chillwave mixer, has worn his heart on his sleeve, putting out a couple of swag tracks for the masses lately, often to the tune of retro niche footage. You know, either late 70’s anime or some kaleidoscopic mid 60’s high school science class footage: the staples. Either way, where I personally feel that Neo-Safari’s “Coastal Cruise” faltered, his “While Dreaming” rises like a sexy phoenix, tearing it up all along the way. Subtle Dadaisme-esque basslines coalesce slowly around swirling, sunlit synth arpeggios and low bit rate digital effects, all carefully balanced in such a way to maximize the exposure of the listener to loops of vocal cuts and snips that are, of course, so heavily processed and pitch-shifted that they serve their purpose as repurposed instrumentation much better than they ever would conveying any sort of lyrical message.”

“Introducing: Neo-Safari, a Dallas-based electronic mystery making some beautiful original tracks and remixes.”

“Neo-Safari – Coastal Cruise: Future-nostalgia. Sounds for Summer 2012. Or Running Away and Forgetting Everything for Now 2012.”

“Tropical and playfully gorgeous; Dallas Musician(s?) Neo-Safari releases their wonderfully eclectic debut EP titled what else? EP. Whether it's the Balearic Bounce of the Opener Coastal Drive, the deliciously heavy and funky beat of Nightmare in the Jungle, or reworking other artist's tracks and shaping them into their own wistful creations, this debut displays that these new-comers have a vast arsenal of styles and aren't afraid to try anything. Sizzling Block-Rocking beats to blast in the summer heat. Also Check out their video for Coastal Cruise below- very retro and road-rash esque.”
