"Energetic, upbeat with an infectiously high-powered live presence, Newark band My Friends have been featured in Out & About Magazine and have been playing the East Coast for the last few years. Coming armed to every show with bongos, mandolin, keyboards (among other instruments), and the occasional bear suit and chain mail armor, My Friends is certainly a band you’ll want to tell your friends about. At the forefront of the Delaware indie-rock scene stands Atlas – a four piece comprised of Ryan Conaty (vocals + guitar), Mike Nigro (synth + theremin), Daniel Westiner (guitar + synth) and David Skillman (percussion). The band cites musical influences like Animal Collective, Mogwai and 70’s group Television, but their sound is entirely their own. Featuring sometimes unusual time signatures and the unique instrument, the theremin, Atlas’s space-rock songs can start small, only to build up to something incredibly powerful. The band has performed with The Spinto Band, Dr. Dog, The Walkmen and Sun Airway, among others. Their upcoming split with My Friends is due to be released this summer!"
