Moons Poet is the solo and sometimes collaborative project from singer songwriter Carly O’Dwyer. Having recently recorded a solo acoustic EP titled ‘Dreams, Rivers, Truth, Ashes’, Carly has often kept busy by collaborating with the neo-psychadellic Melbourne band Niko Niko.
Having just debuted the new single ‘Bluebird’ via Yen Magazine, the track is a melting pot of blues, folk, psychedelic rock and ambient music, influences that have inspired the rising songstress and encompass the ‘Bluebird EP’.
Never one to rest on her laurels though, Carly is soon beginning work on her first full length album, tentatively titled ‘Words and Music’, which looks to carry activities into 2014. Under the influence of working with Niko Niko, she also hopes to release further collaborative improvisational recordings in the near future.
In the now though, the ‘Bluebird’ EP captures the project of Moons Poet fittingly while also serving as a taste of things to come.
“Moons Poet, a focused and talented songwriter, whose arrangements are beautiful, pure and innocent, with a vocal style that boarders on psychedelia, pop and folk.”
