“There are only subtle traces of the artist’s previous creative life on the new recording: You can hear it in the syncopated rhythms of disc opener “399 May Ave.,” and the jam rock feel of “Let Me Get One More” with its doubled guitar solo. But mostly Holton, excuse me, Mister Adams leans toward a modern folk rock vibe, riding a cello on delicate closing number “Hypochondriac” and featuring the lilting voice of significant other Misti Rae Warren on the gentle blues “Sunshine Lullabies.””
