Michael Egleton / Press

“Ok Michael, my brother; This song embodies in itself all the essence of the meaning of love, joy, hope, and pain ... very beautiful words full of meaning; a song that leads to relaxation dedicated to all those who love, and who know how to love. Great song that manages to convey special feelings; I personally enjoyed this song ... I allow myself to give you my simple thought if possible ... have you thought about making an equal song but just tools? the emotions it spreads are really powerful ... the arrangements are perfect for me I think an instrumental version (no vocals) would be fantastic to listen to also, and if you add a little bit of saxophone in the arrangements then it will be really an Oscar song;) ..... Congratulations on this your new masterpiece!”

“The track is real smooth and once the vocals are laid and mastered, it will be a must hear for the music lovers out there. Especially for the Jazz/R&B community. For those who do not know who Micheal Egleton is, I suggest going to Egleton’s website, where you can listen to his latest albums. You will not be disappointed in Egleton’s raw talent.”

“.....This project has been a labor of love. During it’s process Emotions can be a funny thing. They get high in an argument, things are said in the heat of the moment. The thing about words is once they’re out there you can’t pull them back.” ….had a big fight, said some things that were not right…”. Retaliation, trying to hurt this person like you hurt. Then you walk away from the Situation, go somewhere, calm down and began to think about the whole thing and it’s then you realize, it didn’t have to be that way. So much has happened and was happening in my life. Especially in the year of 2017. This brought things to a whole new level. I was writing from a whole other place. ....”

“..Love on the rocks, drenched in nostalgia… Michael Egleton’s “Situations” hearkens back to soul’s golden age with flair. This track traipses the edge of consciousness in a haze of anguish. Michael Egleton sings with the raw emotion of classic soul crooners – telling his tale of woe over an elegantly sparse arrangement. “Jumped in my car, went to the bar…” A dimlit bar room creaks as you enter. The gloom is cold welcome. Warmth is a shot glass. Gin’s no tonic for what ails you. ..Thoughts war within – threatening to escape to reality; transform into actions. Her eyes come back into view and you stand – dropping change on the bar before returning home. “It’s just a situation.” Egleton harnesses a lot of classic soul influence in “Situations.” Old and new converge. The spoken word segment feels like a Boyz II Men hat tilt, though they weren’t alone in such tendencies. Regardless, it helps carry the plaintive story and fits well in the song.”

"Jazz music is still alive and well across the world. But, few artists tell the real stories of life through Jazz music quite like Michael Egleton. His newest album, In the Q, has been well-received because of his and his teams artistry. With terrific tone and syncopated staccato structures, In the Q puts distinctive jazz at a whole new level."

“This song (Behind These Walls feat Bob Esterle) puts me in the the mind of some Lou Rawls, Teddy Pendergrass, DJ Rogers, The Dells, Lenny Williams, etc... The lead vocalist is strong and forceful....... Overall my friend, I rank this song a 8 out of 10 score. Good Records...”

" Fresh .....", " New sound cut from an old cloth ....", " Innovative and full of life experiences ....." are just a few of the words which describe Michael Egleton. Maybe the mature sound comes from the one who raised him, his Grandfather. A fiery Gospel preacher from the south and former " Honkie Tonk" musician himself from the 40's and 50's playing in the juke joints of Chicago, Michael has taken everything he has lived and learned and poured it into his music. He has a simple yet mature sound to his craft. Nothing complicated, just a “to the point in your ear” type of sound that’s refreshing in today's music. It seems to touch life in a different way. Michael is a driven man in everything he does. This drive has afforded him 2 Degrees in Business Administration and allowed him to succeed in many other pursuits in his life. It's this same drive and determination, that he applies to his music.
