“Mike Dyke is an outstanding songwriter who is now getting the credit he deserves as a singer.”
“Michael Dyke is a sincere vocalist and gifted songwriter who puts all his emotions and conviction in his songs. Michael is a very talented guy who sings from the heart.”
"Escape Through My Heart" is a solid collection of ditty-free modern country. Recorded in Atlanta and Nashville, the album features some fine players including Dan Dugmore on pedal steel and Stewart Duncan (from the Grammy-winning Nashville Bluegrass Band) on fiddle. Dyche wrote orco-wrote all ten tracks and there are several stand-outs.While the title of the title track first produces thoughts of Hallmark "happy thoughts," the tune itself erases such notions. Dyke throws down a bluesy groove on "Hunter and the Hunted". "Deep Blue" is a sweet love song and shows off his vocal range nicely. Throughout Escape, Dyke manages to present ten fine tunes without resorting to maudlin word-play, gimmicks or hollow hooks. Quick, someone alert Music Row.
“Waaay back in 2003, one of my favorite Atlanta song writers, Mike Dyche, approached me with this song, "My Tropical Vacation" and asked me to record it. Immediately upon hearing his demo, I realized that this was "Trop Rock" at it's very finest and couldn't rush into the studio and record it quick enough. It was produced by the brilliant Rodney Mills, who engineered all of the Atlanta Rhythm Section's hits, and myself. So, grab a Jamaican Red Stripe beer, snap on your Speedos and SEE through bikinis for a little tongue and cheek trip to the islands. Here's "My Tropical Vacation" from my CD "Island Bound". Thanks for the listen! Bertie”
