"The metal music promises to be torrid at Metal ’Cuse. Music starts at 6 p.m. Saturday at The Fusion Room, 3705 Brewerton Road, North Syracuse. One of the bands that’s sure to play with every ounce of oomph is headliner The Rods. The Southern Tier band includes Dave “Rock” Feinstein, cousin to metal hero and Cortland native Ronnie James Dio, who died of cancer in May. This show, put together by Syracuse native Ken Morrison and his company Power and Fury Entertainment, will benefit Dio’s Stand Up and Shout! Cancer Fund. Also on the bill are Titanium Black, Voodoo Terror Tribe, Caustic Method, Zadoc and the Nightmare, Cosmic Sea and Stone Albatross. Add an all-star tribute jam to Dio to finish the night — Morrison says there will be surprise special guests — and metal fans will have quite their fill. Tickets are available at Fusion, Sound Garden in Armory Square and www.groovetickets.com. Fan donations will be accepted at the event, too."
