“Greetings! This past month of September saw the release of Melody Shotade's 7-track EP entitled 'Cower Between Legs'. Melody has a very candid and personal approach to songwriting, with themes of intimacy and self-reflection. The rhythm tracks were recorded at the old Treehouse Melbourne studio, in the last session before the lease came to an end. The remaining overdubs, including guitars, violin, cello, and vocals, were recorded in Melody's living room, with a portable rig and sound baffles. You can hear the results by clicking on the image on the 'Previous Work' page. Melody launched her EP with a Victorian Roller Derby fundraiser gig at the awesome Thornbury Theatre downstairs function hall, and I had the pleasure to operate the sound for the night. Support acts were varied and impressive, including solo performer and guest harmonica player CJ Lee, 3-piece punk band Since We Kissed, a burlesque show, and mega-folk band The Bon Scotts.”
