In association with The Mercury Bay Art Escape, 12 string guitarist Mark Thompson will be performing at the Coromandel Peninsula Art & Craft Fair on August 24 from 12-1pm. Set to become a "must see" event during a quiet time of year, featuring high quality handmade products from artists all over the Coromandel Peninsula. From established professional painters to emerging artists and craftspeople, come to this inaugural indoor Fair and add some colour and warmth to your Coromandel Winter!

The Bay's Best Perform next Saturday 10 August at the Whitianga Town Hall at 7pm. This show is not to be missed, showcasing a cross-section of local performers aged from 6 to 76 years. Local focus is the catch phrase of the evening, which consists of 20 auditioned acts covering music, dance, juggling and a touch of poetry, and includes also our local established musicians Gentle Annie, KoncoXion Trio, Link Road from Whenuakite and two visiting artists from over the hills: Mark Thompson singer/songwriter from Auckland and Kat Vaughters singer/songwriter from Tairua.

Bio: Songwriter, vocalist, and predominantly a 12 string guitarist. Performing solo, duo, and with band. Playing a selection of classic and modern songs from artists who continue to inspire his own musical creativity, and as a songwriter delivering his own unique blend of modern alternative folk rock.
